So, I am trying to decide which membership to buy. I usually just go with the monthly one and cancel it when I need to, but since I have never tried the other two I was wondering if any of you guys have a preference or think one is more worthwhile than the others. I was going to wait to renew my membership until Gintama went back to new episodes, but now I see too much that I want to watch now.

I would just stick with the anime membership thingy. I don't really watch dramas so just paying the 6.95 for anime is enough for me.

Yeah, I don't really watch the drama either. I just can't decide between the monthly one and the three month one basically. The three month one is less than the monthly one if I keep it for three months, but I could wait and buy the year one, but I just don't want to regret it later. Thanks for replying.

I would say the best package would be however long you want to simulcast and/or watch premium-only shows (Fairy Tail, Ano Hana, etc.) There's a ton of content that doesn't require a membership at all. My primary reason for having it is to watch Chihayafuru ASAP. Also, the last Black Friday had a 12-month membership deal for $50 so plan accordingly.

The majority of my watching is anime with some dramas, if high resolution and weekly simulcast are important to you go for the anime membership. If you buy a membership do 3 months twice then individual months until Black Friday because as priorly stated they have a 50 dollar All Access Membership special the entire Black Friday weekend!!! Which saves you a lot of money!

Honestly, money doesn't really matter if I'm helping Crunchyroll by getting membership. I pay yearly so I don't have to worry about anything. In Canada, we have no access to Funimation, Hulu and all the other streaming sites which makes us go with Crunchyroll.

To be honest, the difference in each deal is negligible.

The best deal, if they run it again, is the Cyber Monday deal before Christmas, all year premium for less than the cost of a one year anime membership. There's no guarantee that they will continue it, but if they do, its a great deal.

But don't hold off on longer regular subscriptions for fear of spoiling your chances ~ if its offered, you can buy the Cyber Monday deal , set your current subscription to not renew, and then the Cyber Monday deal kicks in when the current subscription runs out.

If you are watching enough simulcasts to justify the membership, those series are mostly going to run for three or six months, so if you want to subscribe in January, you probably will in February and March too ... so if its the month when a broadcast season starts (January, April, July and October), I'd at least pick the three month membership, and pocket the buck.

If you sometimes subscribe and sometimes don't, you might subscribe for a month in March, and then in April when you know what Spring season simulcasts Crunchyroll will have, if you want to subscribe, quarterly makes some sense ~ one payment and don't have to worry about membership dropping out mid-season.

If you might only be subscribed for a quarter or half the year, quarterly saves money over annual. If you are going to be subscribed for three quarters of the year, may as well subscribe annually, since its 25% off the quarterly rate (28% off the monthly rate) so you are basically getting the other three months for free.

Monthly makes the most sense for people who can't follow regularly, but catch up on series in marathon sessions during a slow time of year, and for people in places that get very few series ~ Middle East, Europe outside of UK and Nordic countries, Asia ~ where they can subscribe in the last month of the broadcast season and easily catch up to the whole broadcast season. That's what I'd do if I lived in one of those areas ~ subscribe in March, June, September and December (that doesn't work for Fair Tail, but I'm not a big Fairy Tail fan). The difference between quarterly and monthly is small enough just a month skipped over the year mostly covers it.

And of course, only get all access if you watch enough drama to justify it. Since I watch drama heavily going through a series and then can go months without watching another, if I didn't have the CyberMonday deal, I'd drop in a month of all-access memberships every once in a while to catch a full drama series during that month.

Canada gets Funimation.com now, but the bad news is their own streaming is not so good, and you don't have the back up of being able to go to Hulu when they have the encoding of an episode messed up. I watched at least one Black Lagoon episode and one A Certain Scientific Railgun episode on the computer downstairs because Funimation screwed something up and it wouldn't play on my Roku.

I got the anime one since that's what I originally came to this website for. It's pricey in my opinion. ( I get the yearly one ). I didn't get that cyber Monday deal in fear that if I bought it it would somehow cancel the current subscription I had. If it wouldn't have done anything to my current subscription at the time, then I greatly regret not getting the yearly subscription during cyber Monday. Oh Crunchyroll, how I'd wish your yearly subscriptions were cheaper.

I don't really watch the drama's since there aren't many J-dramas around.

So I just do the yearly anime subscription as it's the cheapest, in the long run.

Depends on your money flow. The yearly is the best in terms of monthly cost, but if you might need to cancel at times, I wouldn't go above the 3 month flavor. It's a good balance point, at least.
