Books, anime, pretty much any great entertainment I have a hard time finishing, but I don't let it stop me. I often feel rather sad afterwards though.

But yeah, I know that feel. ;_;

No, never really had that problem. The only anime I had to force myself through was Gasaraki - anyone hear of that show? If you have, then you should know what it's like to sit through the whole thing. A fantastic show, just dry and boring in presentation.

Oh now I get it. You don't want it to end :P
Get you point.
Don't have it the same way though, I really want to see how that great anime ends.

yea i cant relate i just want to see what happens and in most cases don't a lot of animes only cover a fraction of what the original manga has to offer? fraction might be an exaggeration.

aside from boredom i have recently come up with another problem though
whenever i finish watching an episode of K-ON! i either
A. have an urge to pick up my bass and play around for a good hour
B. rummage through my kitchen in search of tea and muffins oh and cake, between episode 6-7 i found some mocha sponge cake in my fridge

Like honestiy all these urges this show brings up makes it friggin hard to just gungho through episodes especially since K-ON! is friggin awesome. Now does anyone have this problem?

Haven't felt that way for a while, and not so much with anime. I can totally understand the feeling though -- I had the same feeling with quite a few books. But when you consume enough fiction, you get used to things ending -- I suspect it's the same with anime. It becomes more or less normal for you to never "see" the characters again, and you get used to it. You may be attached to the characters, but you've been attached to a lot of characters that you never hear about again.

With that said, I'm not really sure I understand the logic behind not finishing the series. Aren't you just moving the ending to an earlier point? "If I finish this anime, there will be no more of it to watch" has an equivalent conclusion to "if I stop watching this anime, there will be no more of it to watch". Either way, you're not watching it, so why would you stop watching it at a point that (probably) leaves you with an incomplete understanding of the story? I don't get it. I do understand the feeling of not wanting a show to end, but that's different than putting your own end on a story. The show ends either way, except that one of the ways gives you less time watching the show you like.

I get this feeling every time I'm close to end in a series that I enjoy.

My trick is to have something just as good waiting to be watched when I finish it.

I also have trouble finishing anime because I have a short attention span. Sucks to not finish an anime, especially if you like it, doesn't it?

Frequently going cold turkey on every series of anime and game you're interested in doesn't sound healthy. Just do what everyone else does and pray like all shit for a sequel.

Sometimes I start to watch something and just stop suddenly...not because I dislike the series or anything(though I was starting to get bored with Karneval and Maoyu at around episode 8 and Magi was just pissing me off near the end) but because I just get into something else and put the series aside for later.
