I just got done watching Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day
I happened across it and I think it would have to be one of the happiest, saddest, most romantic anime I've watched. I knew from the start it would be amazing, the first episode had me tearing up |

Kimi Ni Todoke would have to be the one, in my opinion. It's probably just because the story really hit close to home for me. I used to be in Sawako's position (except being male) where i was really shy. Once I met a special someone though I changed and became a lot more outgoing lol now I hate her tho but either way....most romantic and my fav anime of all time! The characters, story, just everything about Kimi ni Todoke, even if I didn't have a personal tie to it, drew me in and I loved it! Even though they never kissed in the anime it was the only anime I've watched where I was actually okay with it.

The ending realllyyyyyy made me sob for like hours. Never heard of it. Is it like a 'weird' romance or something since you're expecting someone to bash it? lol |

I LOVE Apple sauce.

You know what, I can't just NOT mention these. I think that the romances between the main characters in Eureka Seven and Guilty Crown are really amazing too. Two of my favorite anime. I've watched both multiple times. Guilty Crown, I started watching again as soon as I finished it.

It's not exactly a romance (in fact, I'd say it's pretty far from it), but the relationship between her and the male lead feel quite real and the devotion and trust they show to each other drives the story that I find intriguing. Also, the studio that animated Fate/Zero was also responsible for this, so expect the animation quality to be quite beautiful. |

By the way, the movies are intentionally out of order, so you'll be confused in the beginning, so you have the choice of either watching it in release order or chronological order. If you decide to watch it in chronological order, it's 2, 4, 3, 1, 5, 6, 7, but I recommend watching it in release order since the experience won't be the same watching it in chronological. |

Now, not all of these shows revolve around the Romance itself, but that would get annoying after a while so mixing it up is good! Souske Sagura and Kaname Chidori [hope the names aren't completely butchered.] From Full Metal Panic Edward Elric and Winry Rockbell, also Roy Mustang and Riza Hawkeye [I know, I know] Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood Usui Takumi and Misaki Ayuzawa [LOVE] Kaichou wa Maid-sama Taiga and Ryuuji [LOVELOVELOVE!] Toradora Sawako Kuronuma and Shota Kazehaya [OMG Adore] Kimi Ni Todoke Now, these are only a small few of my favorites. I would go on forever if I listed them all! <3 Yup I also like slowly build romance or not as much concentrated romance couple if that's even a right term. Also when i was watching Full Metal Alchemist I always wish Roy and Riza had more screen time but ya nothing happened in the end. Toradora was also fun to watch Taiga was actually my first time watching a Tsundere character, back then i didnt even knew what tsundere meant. Yes! I always wished for more between them too, but it was a noticeable connection, that's all we can ask for when they're not actually meant to be main chars I guess lol. And, I just realized what Tsundere meant so... yeah! lol >_> |

Kimi Ni Todoke---> extremely impressed. Didn't know it existed until a few weeks ago. Stunned I didn't know about it sooner.
Toradora Clannad and Clannad After Story Eureka Seven There are others but my brain is tired atm. |

I would have to say that it's close between Clannad and Toradora, though I think that Oda Nobuna no Yabou is great as well. I think Clannad is my favorite, because each of the characters are so unique and it has so many ups and downs similar to how it would be in real life.
