Itazura Na Kiss is a really good romance series
Skip Beat! Nodame Cantabile ( all three seasons are good) kinda old anime but still good |

Other than those already mentioned, here are some more awesome romance anime:
Boys Before Flowers/Hana Yori Dango (old--1996 but one of the best) Itazura na Kiss (classic shoujo) School Rumble (school/comedy) Touka Gettan (fantasy) Skip Beat (showbiz) There are also a lot more really good romance manga that never got made into anime. |

But If i were to recommend one, then i would probably say Kobato. You sir almost made me drop my biscuit when i read your spoiler School days was the best , because there is NOTHING like it. |

I used to be in Sawako's position (except being male) where i was really shy. Once I met a special someone though I changed and became a lot more outgoing lol now I hate her tho but either way....most romantic and my fav anime of all time! The characters, story, just everything about Kimi ni Todoke, even if I didn't have a personal tie to it, drew me in and I loved it! Even though they never kissed in the anime it was the only anime I've watched where I was actually okay with it. Brightest wrote: I just got done watching Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day I happened across it and I think it would have to be one of the happiest, saddest, most romantic anime I've watched. I knew from the start it would be amazing, the first episode had me tearing up :) This was great too! I really wish there were more episodes but it's still just a perfect series. The ending realllyyyyyy made me sob for like hours. Never heard of it. Is it like a 'weird' romance or something since you're expecting someone to bash it? lol Kara no Kyoukai (in a nutsell) is basically about a girl who goes around and kills things or other supernatural entities. It's not exactly a romance (in fact, I'd say it's pretty far from it), but the relationship between her and the male lead feel quite real and the devotion and trust they show to each other drives the story that I find intriguing. Also, the studio that animated Fate/Zero was also responsible for this, so expect the animation quality to be quite beautiful. Whoa, sounds pretty interesting. Might just have to check that one out. By the way, the movies are intentionally out of order, so you'll be confused in the beginning, so you have the choice of either watching it in release order or chronological order. If you decide to watch it in chronological order, it's 2, 4, 3, 1, 5, 6, 7, but I recommend watching it in release order since the experience won't be the same watching it in chronological. Holy crap it's The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya all over again. Haha thanks for the tip though! I would've definitely been confused and have been raging like the time i did before i found out the correct order for Haruhi Suzumiya. |

Yes! My vote also goes to Kimi no Todoke. Sooooo romantic. All the characters are simply brilliant. Plus its not just about the romance, but deals with other topics like friendship and fitting in through the eyes of the shrinking violet Sawako.
This will probably sound weird, and I will probably get some serious flack for this, but I found Marimite to be rather romantic as well, in a friendship sort of way. I know, I know, "Shut up with your yuri fandboy crap" etc, but its just my personal opinion. They're not even in real romantic relationships, but the way they handle it makes it feel very dramatic and interesting, Its not something I expect everyone to understand, but I thought i'd throw it out there and let it float amongst the more orthodox series picked. |

Aha, yeah, a lot of people compare to Haruhi a lot, but the movie's out of order for a reason, and not just to troll others just because they can. :P |

hard to say, but one romance from an anime that i watched recently was really good, it was Ayato and Haruka from Rahxephon, they literally manipulate time and space just to be together
