No one's said Dusk Maiden of Amnesia yet? I loved the crap out of that show. Spice and Wolf also, if no one's mentioned that.

My bes yet would be Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun and Buso Renkin.
The first has just really nice characters and never gets eventhough the romance starts pretty early.
And Buso Renkin is just my favorite anime yet since it has a really nice developing and actually happening love relationship and good action as well ( i can't stand this crap about seeing them fall in love early on and NOTHING actually happening like in Full Metall Panic.... Yes it's fun to watch and a good anime but this kind of stuff happens in like 99% of ALL animes where u see them fit as a couple so well and have an emotional bond but just doing like NOTHING AT ALL about it for the whole season...........frustrates the crap out of me).

By the way if anyone knoes some anime similar to Buso Renkin i'd really apriciate if u could tell me since I'm looking for this kind of setting (some kind of action like mecha, fentasy w/e + a really happening romance/relationship) for like ages and are so frustrated to all the time end up with bullcrap like Dragonaut: The Resonance and stuff like that.

Thx in advande and welcome for the hate from all Full Metal Panic fanboys/girls

I totally agree.

I looked over the suggestions mentioned so far and surprisingly:

#1. (8 votes each) Kimi Ni Todoke and Toradora
Now, I've seen both of these and they are both really good. Both are high school romances, so they're more about trying to establish a relationship than an ongoing one. That said, I hated the second season of Kimi Ni Todoke because of all the misunderstandings and the fact that NOTHING HAPPENS. Toradora gets a little closer to the IDEAL romantic anime in my opinion.

#2. (5 votes) Clannad/Clannad After Story.
I am planning on watching this because of the overwhelming support I've seen.

#3. (4 votes each) Kaichou wa Maid-sama, Say I love you and My little monster
Having seen the latter two, My Little Monster is faaaaaaaar superior (commence bashing) because the characters are off-the-wall and very intriguing. The characters in Say I love you were bland. I have a thing for strong female leads and Mei was just... too shy and quiet for my liking (but yet I loved Sawako from Kimi ni todoke).

SAO probably has nothing compared to some of the anime's you guys have mentioned but tbh I've never actually watched any really romantic anime series.

However while watching SAO I really go into the romance of Kirito and Asuna and it made me want a connection like that....dammit.

But yeah don't hate me for saying SAO D:

hard to say, but one romance from an anime that i watched recently was really good, it was Ayato and Haruka from Rahxephon, they literally manipulate time and space just to be together

Ahhh yes, someone finally mentioned RahXephon. :D
Some faith in the anime community has been restored.

haha thanks. i know what you mean though, haven't talked to many people that have actually seen the show, such a shame that people assume it's just an Evangelion imitation

Exactly, when I can argue that Eureka Seven and most mech shows could also be compared to Evangelion.

well that's the thing, really every mech show nowadays can be compared to either Evangelion or the Gundam series, in fact you could even compare Evangelion with the original Mobile Suit Gundam, but that doesn't make them imitations, shows like Rahxephon and Eureka Seven are unique in their own right

Unfortunately, people uphold their anime as they would to religion and politics.
