I'm too young to be getting too old for this.

Because it would take away from the characters appealing form. It has to be something catchy to the eye. I seen some that have middle weight girls if that counts.

Because the assumption is that you are automatically unhealthy and over indulge right... Please do your research

A fat female protagonist...that sounds kinda funny actually.....how fat are we talking? If shes like four hundred pounds then that might be a bit much...but if she is just a little chunky...whats the harm? I find some big girls to be rather charming and some have great personalities.
Btw skinny women can be just as unhealthy as a big one. I know plenty of "big" women who live very healthy lifestyles. Lets try not to be ignorant. |

I troll live broadcasts. Just so ya know.

I watched a documentary about how this village of folks had a feminine even they survived it, their children died young, and their children's children died even younger. |

We did have a fat male protagonist recently and so what's keeping them for during the same to a female protagonist? If they ever did have one, she'd probably be thin by by the next episode or something. I doubt too many people would read a manga or watch an anime with a fat female protagonist for it to be a successful endeavor.

...this village of folks had a feminine... *gigglesnort* On topic: An obese female character would no sell to the masses. Just as its unhealthy both physically and emotionally to promote ultra-skinny girls, its just as unhealthy to promote obese girls. Some people cant help their weight, but for a large portion of the obese folk its just they have a seefood diet (when they see food , they eat it). That and they are lazy. Anywhere, there are plenty of anime where the female characters have average weights... and by average, I mean for Japan. Anime originates from there mostly, so it stands to reason that they are going to draw their charaters based on what the women around them look like. |

Well if the character is saving people they would have to be in good physical condition. I've never seen an action movie where a fat guy is doing the same thing, unless it's meant to be a comedy. On a side note, 'fat' has always been relative in real life. Kate Upton, Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Lopez have all been called fat. But in cartoons the body type generally used may not be proportional to a real woman's body. I remember years ago they too Barbie's dimensions and made it life-sized and found that it would be impossible for a woman to look that way. So I don't think cartoons, or animations if you prefer, have the right body image if that's what we're talking about. No 14 year old girl will have boobs as big as they are in animes and a waist that small. |

There was an excellent Josei manga that featured an overweight girl as the main heroine, and it didn't involve her changing her appearance. She learns to like herself and overcome her painfully low self-esteem. Of course, it also involves her living in a house with a mean woman who she thinks is her mother, and a group of good looking but mean, shallow guys. A really good manga about acceptance, coming to terms with yourself and love (and not done in an annoying Shoujo way ugh) - I totally recommend it.
It was called BARA NO TAMENI, or For the Sake of the Rose. |
