I don't follow boxing in particular, but since I do follow a lot of other professional sports, I can't help but see articles about him on ESPN, lol. In fact, he's listed there now under the main "Headlines" about "Eying Retirement," lol.

He is a fight dodger so it wouldn't surprise me. He will want to retire with his "record" in tact before he is forced to fight someone who actually has a decent statistical probability of winning. Hence why he refused to ever fight Pacquiao.

Kark is right about that. The Mayweather/Pacquiao fight is never going to happen especially now after Pacquiao's most recent loss to Marquez.

Edit: Sigh, boxing is dead.

IMO, the greatest thing in the history of boxing was the NES release of Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! xP

A perspective that can be seen with Mayweather is that he is a business man as much as he is a fighter. Yes, it's pretty weeny, but one's gotta admit that the man has some brilliance in his hustle. I think he topped the Forbes list again for "Highest Paid Athlete".

Even before Pacquiao's knockout with Marquez, you got a sense that boxing lost a lot of honor and Mayweather/Pacquiao wasn't going to happen when they called the fight for Bradley instead of Pacquiao when Pacquiao was absolutely in everyone's eyes was the one that won it; I remember everyone on ESPN and sports channels were just awing at the controversial call for Bradley.

Boxing has some integrity issues, a lot actually, but not dead, at least not yet. Funny thing is, even with messed up score cards in the past, boxing still maintains a good marketability and rake in millions upon millions just to see two men fight. Eventually, this phase of boxing will pass like the ones in the past, and some new fighters will come in and fight, and people will still pay a lot to see it, and there will, emphasize on "will", be unfavorable outcomes, and the whole cycle will start again.

I'll have to kind of agree with you about today's boxing being "dead" in a personal idealist standpoint, but there's something in my nature that just wants to see two grown men in trunks fight each other and spend money on it; I bet this is the case for others too despite seeing a lot of messed up score cards in the past. I have a question about violence based posts, not boxing or "MMA" related. A thread entitled "if you saw someone hurting your friend", I believe the title was something of the sort. There are several posts involving the usage of personal concealed weapons, knifes and in particular switchblades, as an advocated method of defense and even more related to death and murder.

I understand protecting those close to you but I think I have to say something because during the thread related to the IED detonations in boston, four-six posts were brought to my attention by a moderator were considered insensitive to the victims politically hence the thread was removed from the forums. Why do I get the feeling the threads are not controlled unless a mod has taken personal offense? I spoke with the individual known as Karkarov(a mod I do not wish to contact, we will never agree) briefly on that subject who I feel is very level-headed individual. I am curious however, why I am seeing so much "advocated extreme violence" in threads. I have noticed this in the leadership method thread as well, to a much lesser extent.

If I'm just being crazy tell me, but I have definitely seen direct references to stabbings and shootings that have been uncontrolled. Not just trying to stir the pot, but IF you are going to mod, then MOD.

Site Rules

These are quoted rules from the locked thread you made and most are broken everyday.

End rant.

ghostwarrior88, you are not " being crazy ". You are just stating your feedback and concern about the site. Most of your statements do have a few facts supporting them. But, overall: No, you are not being crazy, just concerned is all

First off, the thread was never removed from the forums. It's still right where it was to begin with.
Boston Marathon Explosions

Secondly, I believe most of the moderating that was done in the thread was to remove posts that were without respect for those involved in that horrid event. This includes jokes, poorly thought-out statements such as "they deserve it", or inane comments that the government was somehow behind it.

Thirdly, there is no need to quote the all the rules. We are all more than well-aware of the rules and how they function.
But because I can be nice, I'll just spoiler the part where you quoted the entire rules section.

Finally, we can't be everywhere. If nobody reports a post, chances are that we might never see it. The Boston Bombing thread was a special case, where several mods took care to keep an extra keen eye on it, to prevent flaming & trolling.

So if a post actually bothers you - report it and maybe even explain a little why it bothers you.

I do find it amusing that you believe all the rules are broken constantly, even as a I moderator I don't believe that to be true.

Thank you for your concern, but like AHTL stated above, if no one reports, then we will never get to it.

It's not easy as everyone thinks about what a mod does. We don't "sit" in the forums all day and refresh and refresh every single thread every minute.

As for "most (rules) are broken everyday", well be darn it, there's always a rebel out there on this website each day and some don't even know the rules unless someone reported them to us and we take care of it by warning or banning them and lead them to the rules. But like stated before, if no one reports, then we won't know. The report button is there and exists for a reason. And I also really love it when I get a mod report.

As for your own note about Karkarov, if you have any issues with him and do not wish to contact him, there's always the other moderators who you can talk to via PM. Remember there's not one mod, there's a bunch of us that are here too

End my side of the rant.~

So what are the mods' favourite anime show this season?

For me it is Hataraku Maou-sama closely followed by My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU & Shingeki no Kyojin. Enjoying Gargantia as well, but sadly it can't really compare with the others I mentioned.

I never even bothered to start watching any of the current season anime until Shingeki no Kyojin came out. I started watching Flowers of Evil and was excited about it since the manga was good, yet I feel as if I've been trolled.

On may 11th I will have been a member of Crunchyroll for 6 years, and it only feels half that amount of time. Do any of you feel like your time here has flown past?
