I hear from my grandma that if you eat hot food it like cools you off from the heat. Kind of like the negative + negative = positive thingy. So two hots makes a cold. @__@ I should try that.

I tried that before and let's just say I end up crying, unless you mean temperature hot food and not hot as in spicy, b/c I ate spicy food.

Mocha you should know not to raid Bedlams fridge by now, you are lucky that food didn't have mold on it.

did you feel cooler? I'm assuming my granny just meant "hot" food that makes you sweat or something. Since sweat plays a cooling effect on our body. I can see how my granny thinks it makes you cool.

Buy a fan. I have two pointing at me right now. I prefer fans to air conditioning anyway.

Live in England, we get a bit of everything, and it's not unbearable at either end of the spectrum.

Take a cold shower before sleeping. My AC went out in my apartment before and it took a few days before they could get it fixed right in the middle of summer last year. The cold shower helps for getting asleep ALOT. During the day just spend time elsewhere if you can, like at a friends house. Even if you can bum somewhere for a night too. I slept at my parents once cause its was around 93 that day. Drink lots of icewater too aww yeah love me some icewater or iced raspberry lemonade.

@ Karkypoop :
I know, but it is so tempting! And also the only thing that had mold in his fridge was the expired cheese that I know he'll end up getting watery poo.

@ Shohee :
Actually it does cool you down a bit by making you sweat, thus you are correct. Spicy food does help a lot and you can see that in very hot climatic regions of the world, the people living there sometimes eat very spicy food so your grandmother could mean that as well, but hot can mean many things and opened for interpretation. (Either way, eating both spicy and hot food can cause you to perspire, thus giving you a temporary alleviation from the heat)

Another trick to cool the body that I have used before is lotion. Something minty is preferred as mints have that chill effect, it feels good and cool on your skin. You can also eat ice cream, mint-chocolate is fine too the cooler the better. Although not too much at a time b/c brain FREEEZZZZZEEEEE!!!!

@ CrayMegane :
But it can mean both ways! English is so complicated. Why can't it be that each word has it's own meaning! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY???!!!!!!!! -starts a tantrum- I want my momma BEDWAaAAAAMMMmmm!!!!

They have mysterious super-powers beyond the ken of mere mortals as you or I. Even though they can change their own rank descriptions, it's much more fun and entertaining to watch when they change each others'.
