It's the only thing that keeps this monster of a body running, nothing else will do for me!

Your welcome Bedlam, I've watched a lot of the catalog on here but haven't watched Space Bros. Do y'all recommend?

Space Brothers is f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c!
When they are not doing a COMBO-RECAP at least...

@AnimeKami

Never, the day I stop being a moderator is the day I leave Crunchyroll. There's more good than bad in my opinion.

@Ink-e
I really like the anime Natsume, and I feel somewhat akin to Takashi. Though I've been through many different avatars by now.

@Ink-e

Hello Moderators! (And other inhabitants of this thread)

What's the story behind your avatars? Just curious, as I'm one of those people who changes theirs pretty often.

All of my avatars are mostly made by other people, sometimes I will try to make my own avi...But, I am not ready for that..atm. But, each one of those avatars made by other people was given to me as a gift for something, and each hold a memory for me, which may or may not relate to the reason for the gift. My current avatar, this one. Was given to me by my current gf, her. She gave me this avatar because the character in the picture reminder her, of me. But, either or....Yeah, short story

I don't want to say it is awful. It's just not my bag...
It reminds me, honestly, of Repo! The Genetic Opera....
Which was a trainwreck.

The sound quality didn't help, or the lyrics for that matter...

Much better!

I know you guys do the whole mod stuff, but what else do you do?

I frankly haven't seen many of the mods post regularly on the forums.

What do you do on this site?

I imagine the same thing as most people. Watch anime, participate in a few tight knit groups, chat with buddies through pm or wall, and sometimes watch a korean drama.

I do what any other users do like Karkster said up there. I do watch Korean dramas on this site if there is something interesting. I feed Baker a Bedlam steak once in a while. Poor little puppy needs some food so he can have energy to "talk" to people.

Things that have changed? Roll out in 3 extra languages. Roll out on 4+ platforms.
Working to improve email response times as well as features for end users.
There's a lot of quiet changes that I've made.

Ummm, yeah!

Also, currently watching Gargantia, Titan, The weird hair cutting one, Flowers.
Flowers of Evil is looking to be my favorite for the season.

So how are you enjoying California in your tenure?

Also, feel free to enjoy my story below. "LAWL"

And may I ask, how did you came upon CR, zen?

Oh how sweet. You remember me. I remember you too sweetie. Or was that bitter-sweetie? "LAWL"

I guess I'll tell my “story”.

My Stats: 14,500+ forum posts, almost 5 years on this site, and zero buddies

Back mid '08, I heard rumors that this site was going to be streaming some legit Anime. That got my interest because at that time "legal" Anime online was non-existent, and that sounded pretty interesting. Despite of the first show not being my taste, Camel Toe Witches for those who don't remember, I saw this site's potential to pushing to through that legal platform and a possible subscription base pay to support the Anime industry. I like that style because I'm the kind of person who likes to watch shows but not own physical media, and I'm kind of fed up with the alternative of way of getting Anime for a couple of reasons- one being that arrogant pirate mentality.

While waiting for that legit shift, I played on the forums because I'm kind of a forum junkie at the time. I was all over the place. I argued Existential and Darwinist ideas on Extended, posted random "internet" problem threads on General, messed around with the duplicate threads on Anime, and watched some of the crunchyroll social interaction drama.

Then I found the first version of /AMP/- the one long since gone because BasouKasuma threw it into the void. That was the one that made me stuck here on the forums because much of the messy-ness of the forums and groups went away when crunchyroll when fully legit. Though, when the site banned /AMP/ and motivational threads in '09, I nuked this account and just watched the shows here under jakkster because things just felt "bleh" in the interaction arena.

Though, around mid '10, I started missing the forums and the /AMP/ thread, so I pitched the idea to BasouKazuma and keikawa to bring it back. I used a bit of "business sense" with it under the pretext of micro/mini-social media marketing using the stats of the old /AMP/ threads and their successes on the crunchyroll forum in bringing in a crowds and keeping the crowd there for a more face value time with this site. Basically, I sold the idea of /AMP/ being on crunchyroll as a self turning social media operation with a high return and with little investment because the forum system is already there and that there's not much maintenance to it but the regular modding staff. Lo and behold, a week later /AMP/ has been resurrected, and part of my boredom was alleviated. Though, I didn't actively participate at the first year to prevent certain users from coming back and to let the thread begin fresh with the new stricter provisions that I asked BasouKazuma to put in place. I was at the background guiding it, with the assistance of Kippu, so it doesn't crapsize like that other two versions.

Then I got bored of just watching the thread, so I asked Kippu to resurrect this account back from nuketown mid '11. From then on, I'm just making posters again on the /AMP/ and serving as some kind of delegate between the users and the other users and you mods to make sure it doesn't get too messed up but just be around a right amount of messed up. After Kippu "disappeared", it was AHTL who was the main warden and a bit of Karkarov that I collaborated with if there was something that needed to be handled.

With this version of the /AMP/ thread, after 2 years 9 months, almost 46 million views, 11,000+ pages, 500+ unique daily pages followers, 40+ weekly regular users posting and participating, a post count that tramples all of General Discussion combined, a daily average view count that even embarrasses some of the premier front page content, now we're right here seeing what will come of it in the next week. Well it lasted two times longer than the last two threads combined. Not too shabby in a site in like this in its obscure parts right? "LAWL"

In short, my history in crunchyroll is intrinsically connected to /AMP/ and watching legally licensed Anime. Aside from my dollars spent here, think my bringing back this /AMP/ version as my way of supporting crunchyroll in some kind of odd way. I think that I deserve a badge or something. "LAWL"
(Plus, it gives you guys something to do sometimes. "LAWL")

Well, nice seeing you again "Her Poohness".

Here's something that I got from the crunchyroll store. I was going to share the image with the /AMP/ thread, but seeing that it's on freeze for a bit, I guess that I'll share it to you guys first.

Aww so glad you remembered me. You deserve a .

Anyways TLDR. "LAWL"

Just kidding. I read everything you wrote. I think I knew you back when you argued Darwinist and Existential ideas, because that caught my eyes back then, but I had no power over Forums around that time so pooh pooh for me.

I actually remembered the closing of the banned /AMP/ thread. Keep on forgetting that it existed too :)

As for the badge, if you keep saying "LAWL" I'll think of something...

I just wanted to thank the Mods for keeping the Boston Marathon explosions thread on topic. I know it was a pain in the butt and that those types of topics can be polarizing. I was a moderator for a forum much like CR during the entire 9/11 attacks. It difficult to keep threads on topic for long and there was much anger and ill will.

So, thanks. Cheers.

Danke. We have gotten some complaints about strictness in that thread but we have gotten way more feedback thanking us for not letting it turn into something... bad. We appreciate hearing the good feedback!
