Isnt that the use of the Pythagorean theorem? A squared + B squared = C squared. OMG! Considering, that Im pretty dumb in math and I remembered this, Im joyful. XD

Actually. its A squared = B squared + C squared

Uhh, C is the hypotenuse, and A and B are the lengths of the other two sides. One side squared plus the hypotenuse squared do not equal another side squared. Lol.

In order to find A or B, A in your case, it should be C squared - B squared = A squared (not sure bout this one).

Proof:

Given: In a right triangle side A = 3, side B = 4, hypotenuse C sq = 25

3 sq + 4 sq = 5sq - Pythagorean theory

9 + 16 = 25 - Associative Property?

25 = 25 - Commutative Property?

C sq = 25 - Transitive Property / Given

(Im not sure about the postulates I used, don't mind them)
