When I was in elementary school:
"Sorry, but I just studid the wrong topics!"

And this year in history lesson:
"What was done to prepare the reunification of Germany?"
"(I already was pretty pissed) They tried to teach the citizens of the DDR proper German, but they failed" (Citizens of the former DDR often get mocked because of their hrrm... dialect)

I was taking a biology test recently on fungus, and couldn't remember 3 fungal uses, besides food and medicine, so I ended up just drawing a bunch of mushrooms in the blank.

Population genetics is based upon a lot of mathematical models and statistics. As is probably not uncommon in graduate school, the professor may be brilliant and well-known in his/her field, but not necessarily good at teaching it to others. On the final, after struggling/fudging though a multi-part question, the last part was "what assumptions underlie this type of analysis?" or something like that. I had no idea, so my my answer was "That I know what the hell I'm doing." The professor wrote" +10, the best answer I've seen all day!" That was about 20 years ago-- I think I just pased that exam!

Incidentally, the course "Biostatistics for Human Genetics" was Biostatistics 666! It was really meant for Biostatistics masters students. Of all my contemporaries in the Human Genetics graduate program at the time, only one person ever completed that course. I thought I was pretty decent at mathematics, but apparently nowhere near good enough-- I lasted a week in that course and then dropped it. We're trained more as molecular biologists and laboratorians, and leave the hardcore number crunching to our Biostats colleagues!

My instructor dictated in a test...

Q: What are the three types of law?

I could really answer that if I have just been present the last time it was discussed, it was a pretty easy question. But unfortunately, i was absent last meeting so instead I wrote...

A: I don't know, the price for being absent, I guess T-T (yeah, I added the crying face)

what's funny when i received my paper my teacher answered written in capital letters TRUE

Q: What are the key philosophical differences between Aristotle and Plato?

A: I don't know, it's all Greek to me.

While I could have answered the question without much difficulty it was the last of three essays on my Literature 131 final and I was all but assured of having an A in the class, so I just went with the smart ass answer to be done with it.
