There were a few items that held a value that could not ever be placed to myself, or replaced for that matter, some of which were even just virtual items that held value just because of the person who gave them to me.

Have you ever had to sell/toss or leave behind a item that had a large amount of sentimental value to you?

I will post some of my own later in the thread.

I invested a lot of time, skill and money into Warhammer 40k between the 2nd and 4th editions. I felt addicted, so I threw everything away, and 10 years later, realized how stupid that maneuver was. (extinct races, out of date units, ect.)

Only then did I understand my uncle's feeling when my grandmother threw away his original Superman comics when he was in college.

I'm actually coming to terms with a bit of this right now. I've been a book collector since I was about twelve years old, and I'm currently faced with the unfortunate need to to part with a large part of my collection in order to pare down my belongings enough to make moving anywhere I need to a reasonable reality. I escaped many an unbearable day into the fantasy worlds of those pages, but I suppose they have served me well enough. Perhaps someone else needs them now.

My guitar. I sold it for piano lessons. Ironic huh.
It was a very expensive Larrivee guitar... Well I have to buy a new one later.

My mother decided to recycle a bunch of old notebooks she found under my bed.

Not like they represented 4 years of my writings or anything.

When I was younger, it was a bit hard for me to deal with the fact that I lost my Pocahontas action figure. I was also sad to notice the loss of my Sailor Neptune & Sailor Uranus action figures.

Books, so I would have room for more books. Kids these days with their newfangled kinders that hold thousands of books will never understand.

Yeah. I think you mean Kindle, lol. Once it breaks though, they're screwed and all that money they spent, on the kindle plus those books, was all for nothing.
