Yay side. Used to like FT for the first few arcs but Quickly lost interest.

Maybe they can put money into something worthwhile.

how about the countless second seasons we all want.
or a third season of Spice and Wolf.
much rather have that then ANOTHER generic shounen.

i can now laugh at the people who have still say "the Big 4 or 5"
LOL
bleach- DONE
naruto - slowly coming to an end.
FT- finished

however ONE PIECE FOREVER!!!!

Not sure if it's true, but 'an unidentifiable magazine' is not the most reliable source of information. It could be true or it could be mistaken information, who knows? I do know that the anime is catching up to the manga so that would be the main reason it ends, not low sales/ratings. If it ends it will be back once the manga has more breathing room. I mean, Gintama 'ended' around 3-4 times but it always comes back...with something as popular as Fairy Tail, I'm positive they would continue to animate the series once they have more room.

Either way, I'll wait for an official announcement before confirming it.

that because gintama is that kind of show.

fairy tail isn't.

bleach might not be as well, even though it is in its final arc or is finishing already even with its huge fan base.

i highly doubt fairy tail will come back, but yea imma miss it. though the good news to come will be intriguing for sure.

Good points, and I'd agree with you if it wasn't for Mashima. I think he has something up his sleeve. If it was truly ending, he probably would have mentioned it a while back because he's always involved with his audience/fans. This would seem like a blindside on his part, which I don't think he's that kind of person. But anyways, I'll wait for his announcement to make an assumption.

I suppose the main question is will they just end it with "to be continued in the manga" or give us one of those wrap up endings where they face the sudden final Big Bad out of no where?

I'm betting the Pumpkin is evil.

I'm pretty sad, I love fairy tail, hopefully it will return once the manga get s a good enough lead, I guess it's tough to make filler arcs when they are in the middle of the grand wizard games and don't want to pull a bleach with random filler arcs inserted in a middle of the main story.

yea, i agree. freezing them for seven year was pointless. it seems like an escape card. be awesome if they did it like one piece with them coming out a little bit different giving them newfound mystery. but then it would be boring cuz its like one piece. but the shonen part isn't lacking so atleast that much i got going for when watching it.

honestly you'll love the new arc. keeps things pumping capared to the arc before the newest one which was kinda a let down.

with naruto, if they throw in a decent twist they can still end really strongly.
and bleach right now is a live wire. bringing back the series is a bad decision, but there is only one arc remaining, i enjoy watching it. but im kinda of an antifan of the show most of the way, do want to see it end. since they decided to wait till now to end it, as many people say the aizen arc shoulda been the end of it.

Haha not at all..

okay maybe a lil
but i did give FT a chance. I watched up to episode 136. but it lost its touch for me sometime around the Edolas arc.
the after the Jiggle butt gang...( just writing the name is revolting) i lost almost all desire to watch the show.
I felt that it was lacking in certain points that are key to a long running anime.
like the sense of urgency or death.
No main characters ever died off. so there was no on the edge of the chair moments, especially when compared to say the War of the Best arc. from Impel Down all the way until the end you could sense the urgency in the actions of all the characters. And when somebodies life is hanging in the balance you can feel the emotions of the People.

I felt that over time the fanservice just got more out of hand, almost to the point where it could be one of the shows main features. The amount of Ecchi in FT is too much IMO

Natsu also suffers from the "Omg i going to lose this fight, No wait i just remembered that despite being less powerful 2 episodes ago i am now stronger then you." syndrome that many shounen characters have.

Also many people say that FT is about Friendship and Guild member pride. that, that is one of the key points of the show but i think that One Piece's Nakama bonds are stronger. ( might be the OP fan in me talking)

Lastly i feel that without a powerful compelling goal in a long running Shounen, it can easily feel like we are justing going from one arc to the next.
whether the goal is to find Igneel idk but it seems weak, considering the MC is Lucy.
a strong goal like say Becoming the Hokage or finding One piece and becoming the Pirate King add the story.
Thats why i feel that One pieces concept and Design is really well thought out. Go along the Grand line from Island to Island and there is a real reason and purpose to go to each (to set the log pose) this allows for seamless fillers. ( all they have to do is just go to a different island between the two or have something happen on the Sea.

but with FT most of the Time it just felt like "lets go do the next mission on the board".

Just my opinion though

That's understandable. When you put it like that, you seem less obnoxious. The reason I said that is because there are One Piece 'superfans' running around to the different FT articles about it ending and bashing it and such. They're definitely trolls but it still kind of irritates me when people call FT a One Piece ripoff. All Shonen have similar themes, so you could say that every Shonen after DBZ is a 'ripoff', which they're not. But anyways, I understand your points completely. Edolas was a little confusing/slow/weird (especially with the 'no magic' theme) and don't even say the Jiggle Butt Gang BS...that was completely unnecessary and really just turned me away. I stuck with the show though, and the current Magic Games Arc is the best arc yet. I'd recommend you try giving it a shot because there are some really good moments in the arc that are worth rewatching for. It's definitely got a darker, more serious theme than the previous arcs.

As for Once Piece, The art style is personally not my favorite. I've only seen the first 20-30 episodes (not enough I know) but it just didn't interest me as much. I guess it gets really good later on, but the problem is trying to get through 300+ episodes of One Piece or 600+ chapters of manga to catch up...that's what's stopping me from watching it.

My personal favorite Shonen (if you want to consider it that) is Gintama. It has some of the best serious arcs in any shonene I have ever seen. The fights are quick and realistic (no flashbacks, no talkign too much, no trying to persuade the bad guy to change sides...none of that) and they actually use anger, in other words, the main character attacks with anger. The battle scenes are also some of the coolest and less gimicky I've seen. So while I don't think Fairy Tail is the best, I don't think it deserves all the hate it's been getting either.

He also said there were some things he can't talk about yet. That seemed the most cryptic of all.

To me Fairy Tail is the most ballanced of the long running anime shows. I got tired of DBZ after awhile since it seemed to be one endless fight after another and in the end it always was up to Goku to save the day. With One Piece, they've gone 500+ episodes and I'm sure they are no closer to finding it than they were in episode 1. Naruto is good but the main female character Sakura doesn't get really useful skills until the Shippuden parts. Bleach had similar problems with Rukia being mostly useless in the begining then a prisoner in the next arc. The other main girl with the orange hair also has those problems.

With Fairy Tail nearly all the major arcs were solved with a team approach. The best example being the ending of the 1st season. Everyone has different magic that they bring to the guild. Most of the females are just as powerful as the men. Belonging to something bigger than yourself is a good thing that where other shows its mostly shown as a weakness.

I could always count on good dose of positiveness each week from Fairy Tail and will miss that when it goes off the air.
