I love Fairy Tail, and I don't think there's anything wrong with the way that the story is progressing in the manga either. It's all about friendship and doing absolutely everything you can to defend your friends and the people you care about. Yeah, there are exaggerated parts, them overcoming obstacles that would otherwise be impossible, but come on, it's an anime about magic. With enough heart, they can do whatever they like.

I've been surprised at how closely the anime has followed the manga for a while now, so I'm not all that surprised. I do hope that it's just a break though, I'd love for Fairy Tail to make a come back in our world too

I love watching you guys all jump to conclusions...... Ok so something is slated in Fairy tails time slot..... Who the fuck says the animes canceled? It could be moving to another day, another time, maybe another deal with another tv station? Could be something simple as that. Could be taking off a season to catch up. But nothing was said about the show being canceled..... And to the haters Fairy tail is the next best thing next to Bleach, Naru and One piece, and in all fairness if you dont understand the reason for the 7 year time skip you havnt been following the show at all..... The 7 year time skip will play into something coming at the end of this chapter if you recall the number 7 or 7 years has some importance to the story in the anime as 7 years ago on the 7th day of the 7th month all the dragons dissapeered... They have been tossing around the magical number 7 for awhile now.... Guessing we'll figure it out at the end of this arc..... Shows to good to be canceld, and i think fillers is a bad way to go.... I'm waiting for this good news he's promising keeping faith in one of the best anime/mangas to come around in years....

P.S for all those sad that its canceled...... READ THE FUCKING MANGAS
FT isnt canceled, watch hes just getting fired up!
new timeslot/new day i'm hoping!

Also i'd like to add that bleach ended at the end of a arc, not in the middle... If the anime truely was to end at the end of this month, it would be ending in the middle of a arc, and I cant see that really happening. If anything they would finish animating the last arc, then maybe take a break for catching up in manga chapters... I just can't imagine them stoping the anime right as natsu and gajell fight the other 2 dragon slayers..... Bringing the anime back halfway in the middle of a arc makes no sense to me. If they are worried about being on the heels of the manga, i think they would at least finish animating the current arc, seeing as there's still more going on.

Fairy tail is a good anime, but its not something that can be dragged out like Onepiece. IMO it has run its course and should end smoothly tieing all the loose strings and such.

its ok, since I was just reading the manga here

Fairy Tail was good at the beginning but the next arcs are nothing new it always start the same:
new enemy > start of the fight > top characters members fight one after another > one or few characters have turning point in them > the enemy is overcome and the everything starts again. And also we don't learn anything new about the final plot.
It just that in Naruto, Nurarihyon no Mago, HunterxHunter etc. the fight/arcs looks different all the time. But in Fairy Tail its gets boring for me - starting from the Test arc.

Apparently on Hiro's twitter he stated that he had good news for everyone but he couldn't say... so maybe this is just a break the anime needs for a healthy gap between the manga and the anime.

I hope it will continue! The anime is done beautifully... but at least we know the manga is still going !

Two words, Japan: SEASON BREAKS.

Why can't anime take season breaks like American TV shows do? What do the studios think is going to happen?

Probably because it's the only one of those that the main character is a bit of a child, and never changes his attitude towards the world, and never grows up.

no offense, i like the show, but natsu is a bit of a stale character to have be the lead. Lucy just keeps getting pwned, Happy is a cat. IMO, lucy should have taken more of a lead / stopped getting shat on in the tournament and made to look like a weak tool.

Wouldn't pokemon be a prime example of it. It's had over 500 episodes and hasn't changed a thing.

Pokemon is targeted at children between 3 and 9 though, and has evolved through several expansions and changes that appeal to that group. Fairy tail doesn't have it's own card game, several dozen video games, etc. It's also targeted towards a set of teenagers and young adults, and doesn't really let a new audience jump right in during the middle of the story. Because it's on going, it will alienate new audience members when they bring up past relationships, as you don't have any of the emotional baggage included from previous episodes (Jerald is a prime example. If you missed that tower arc, and wendy's introduction arc, the quick flashbacks would make no sense, and you'd only know him as an escaped convict turned vigilante. Not at all interesting.)

Aw, I thought that fairy tail was gonna run a bit longer. How are they going to make a good ending in 4 episodes! I think the anime is getting too close to the actual manga so they are going on a hiatus for the time being. I really do adore this anime and it's a shame that it's coming to an end on March 30th. Even though I'm up to date with the manga, I liked watching it. This is one of my favourite animes because it was on going.
I'm going to have to find another anime to watch.
At least the manga is still on going

I really am deeply sad about this... Fairy tail is one of if not my favourite anime... Reading the latest news hit me hard. Hopefully its just going on hiatus till the manga gains some reasonable distance and hopefully thats what Hiro's message was in his latest tweet. If its him announcing a new anime or something im gonna be super pissed. U cant just cancel such a good anime... Especially one that people have been following for a while. Its unfair to the fans.

Lol. I'm on the yay side. If this happened 2 years ago I would've been disappointed, but now I could care less.

I was never really a fan of the show, don't find it as awesomely epic as some might, was just "meh" with me so not that big of a deal to me.

After closing this thread the first time, I decided to go back and read the manga. I've been reading it from the start, and just started fairly recently. I am at Chapter 49. The title of the chapter is "All good things must end."

Feels really bizarre, man.

Pokemon is a anime of fillers...
and it isn't adapted from anything therefore has no storyline to follow...
