I used to replace my dad's coffee sugar with salt. Also used to put my brother's sheets in the wash and then remake his bed while they were still wet. Wouldn't notice until he went to bed. One time I cut giant crotch holes in all his underwear. Got in trouble for that though.

Well lets see... 2 years ago at the apartment complex I was living at one of my friends used clear scotch tape on the card readers for our group of friends apartment doors so when they went to get inside the card would hit the tape and not go in the slot. I however noticed it before I tried to open my door and took it off. I then acted normally and waited for someone to try and take credit for trying to prank me and when they asked if I had been to my apartment yet I said yeah, then they asked if I noticed anything odd and I said no and that I got there right after house keeping came by and made her think she pranked the wrong person ^.^

Everyone else got her back by caution taping her car later that day >=)

Last year it was known I would be leaving soon and on April fools day there were a few minor pranks going on and at like 7 or 8PM we grabbed a few friends and played board games in my apartment, one of the people there was the person who scotched taped everyone's doors the year before. Well unknown to her we figured out that one of our friends had a star bit screwdriver which could take off the outside door handles to peoples apartments. So while she was distracted playing board games we had some of our friends that were not hanging out with us take her door handle so she could not get into her apartment, we ended up putting back on her door handle after midnight though lol

Wow~ some of you are pretty bad! Some of these just sound mean! That and I could never do anything to damage someone's things..
That being said.. Here's a great prank for someone you know well enough.

At my University quite a few years ago, some of the guys in our engineering dept. loaded up a really old Operating System on a spare laptop.
They went to one of the teacher's offices, who had left their door unlocked, unplugged the desktop box, plugged the monitor, etc into the laptop, and hid the laptop behind their desk. Teacher gets to work in morning and finds their computer has super old OS on it.
Reaction = Priceless.
Edit: oh, be sure to hide a camcorder or something in their office to catch the reaction. =) Possibly to post the video later online.

Wish I could remember some of their other pranks... Though that one was one of their better ones.

Oh, a similar one (maybe cliche now?) if someone leaves their computer unlocked is taking a screenshot of someone's desktop, setting that as their background, and then moving all of their actual Shortcut icons into a subfolder (don't be mean by deleting them =P If you want to be really nice, leave the subfolder on the desktop (the only actual working folder, since the rest are only part of the picture now)). Watch them as they try to click the "icons" and them not work.
Great pranks for Engineering/ Computer Science teachers. =)

And another post, since I found the screenshot I was looking for:
Click the link, and scroll down to the last picture:
https://www.sirenvisual.com.au/Product/423.php

Tape picture on bottom of someone's mouse. When they try to use their mouse, and it doesn't work, they'll turn it over to see what's wrong, and then see the picture you put there.
There's some great (Read as: horrifying) pictures on the internet that one can use, but I won't post them here. =)

In Work-safe situations, there's always pictures like this that are amusing:

Have fun!

The one time I told my roommate I would deploy the greatest April Fool's Joke ever on him...and on April 1st I didn't do anything.

I like this one. Totally subversive.

This year, perhaps you could tell him that you will get him good - he won't know where, he won't know when, but it will happen, and when it does, he'll be none the wiser. Then, you just carry on as normal.

I put a ring in my friends girlfriend's drink, his girlfriend thought he pulled a prank on her. Afterwards, they had a little fight. I'm the mastermind.

I told my branch manager about saying I'm quitting for April fools day, so he doesn't go to HR and really get me booted. So, after that I went all day saying my goodbyes and I'm quitting and today is my last day. I let them in on the joke just as I was walking out the back door.

I was working as a student assistant at a community college and was assigned the computer lab on April 1st. In order for the student to get a passing grade in thier class they had to do 31.5 hours of work in the lab by the end of the semester.

So above the check in computer for the lab I posted the following notice:

Due to budgetary reasons the lab will be closing as of today for the rest of the semester.
Students are still required to meet the 31.5 hours of lab time in order to pass.

If you have any questions please contact APRIL FOOLS DAY
!

Not one single person read all the way to the bottom and everyone freaked out.

I'm not very good at pulling pranks on people but when I was younger my parent pulled one of the best prank on me.
A little back ground info, I'm adopted and my mother CAN NOT have childern. I've always known that I was adopted but I didnt know that my mom couldnt have kids. Those two things just never clicked in place for me as a Jr. High student.
So I come home one day and my parents sit me down and tell me that my mother is pregnent! I'm over come with joy at the idea that Im going to be a big sister! So I started calling my friends and telling them that we had to put a list of names together for my parents, because they told me that I could name him/her. After about THREE hours of making a list of baby names I come back downstairs to show my dad and mom what I came up with. As my mother is looking at the list of girls names she goes, "Oh I really like this name," and points to one on the page. I go, "Oh April is a pretty name, but maybe we should do a family name, since mine is a family name too." "You think so?" She answers, "Cause I was thinking more along the line of April Fools!"
I cried for so long at being pranked, it never ever EVER crossed my mind that it was april fools day.
So! If you want, you can lie to all of your friends about that. Ta-da!

Take cold water, instant coffee, baking soda and vinegar (alternatively you can replace the vinegar and baking soda with baking powder) and put them in a cola bottle. Put the lid on tightly. Shake the bottle and put it in the fridge.

This requires some experimenting but for about a liter sized cola bottle, 700mL of water, 3 tablespoons of instant coffee, 2 tablespoons of baking soda and about 4 tablespoons of vinegar should be fine.

Make sure that you don't fill the cola bottle and that your bottle is at least a liter in volume. The liquids should go in first and the solids should follow. Make damn sure you use a bottle meant for carbonated drinks or the lid could blast off the bottle or the bottle itself could explode injuring you and making a big mess.

I haven't tried this yet so I'm not quite sure how well this will work but one particular thing to watch out for is the smell. If it can't be masked then there's a good chance that people will find out before they actually drink it.
