I enjoy it because I find anime to be one of the more emotionally engaging forms of entertainment out there. Least for me. Laughing, tearing up, frustration, you name it. Anime invokes it quite well. :-)

Well i admire all artists and i admire anime because it is art. The entertainment value is ridiculously high, the characters are amazing; same with the plots. They teach good life lessons/morals that are hide to find elsewhere. I like the settings, i like the Japanese culture as a whole really..

also serves as a reward for my hard work, since no one else seems to notice my achievements i have to acknowledge them at least.

The question i want to ask is how can't you like anime? the answers i receive are usually half assed or just plain retarded and lacking in respect. a lot of people can't appreciate anime for what it is.

oh yeah and it has so many different genres so i can pick which one i want to watch depending on my mood and such. or even to make me happier with the amazing comedy it can provide :]

I generally love the art and music of anime, though I also adore that anime much more broad in terms of the genres available. There aren't many Western cartoons that are as tear-jerking, violent, and serious as Wolf's Rain, Ergo Proxy, Death Note, Basilisk, and Code Geass. Most Western cartoons are geared towards children and young teenagers, so anime allows me to find titles that fit my preferred tastes when I'm in the mood.

I like anime for a number of reasons.

-The cultural aspect. While anime isn't always necessarily the most accurate reflection of Japanese culture, you can still see a lot of Japanese culture in it. Also, learning Japanese makes watching subbed anime all the more fun because sometimes I don't need the subs and can actually understand what they're saying. Which is exciting since I'm such a language nerd.

-It's a different animation style than American cartoons. While I love American cartoons, it's nice to see something a little different every once in a while. I do prefer anime art styles a little more since (for the most part) they tend to be more detailed and realistic-looking.

-Sometimes I'm more interested in watching a show with a more complex plot and developed characters that tells a story, but a lot of times American cartoons are more focused on comedy. Granted, anime has shows that are more comedic and don't tell a progressive story and there are some American cartoons that follow a clear story and have characters that develop throughout the entire show.

-The community is large and (for the most part), pretty awesome. We all love anime, though to varying degrees. I love being able to discuss my favorite shows or shows I didn't really care for.

Animation, in general, is limitless. You can do anything in animation (e.g. One Piece Luffy's elastic body lol)

I use it as escapism and I vicariously live through the characters. It takes my mind of the "real world" and all the problems [money, the future, surviving] Sounds a bit sad, but I feel that a lot of people watch anime/read manga and fictional books/movies for the same reason.

Anime seems to be much more diverse than Western animation, offering shows with more interesting characters, creative & intricate plots and IMO better art styles. Also it's interesting from a cultural perspective to learn about Japanese culture through some shows, and see their representation of themselves, their culture and other cultures.

I like anime because it is very versatile. I realize that making an anime is very expensive, but there are thing that you can do in anime much more cheaply than you can do with live-action TV or movies. Like Voices From a Distant Star. The Production cost for that was only about a thousand dollars, but trying to do that in Live-Action would be astronomically expensive. That gives the writers of Anime more versatility, which in turn makes the product more interesting to watch.

I like anime because, it takes me to another world other than reality. I love how you can just get so emotionally connected to the character's and their stories.

Because pyramid shaped boobies and mini skirts.

On a more serious note I just like annimation period. I prefer it than live actors and anime can appeal to everyone seeing that it covers all genres. And besides, anime has brought about many awesome things that inspire kids, teens and adults alike. With super saiyans and Hokuto No ken and ninjas and all that fun stuff.

Hmm, more diversity in stories and less restrictions.
