I've found only a handful of Harem manga that I like, and in most of them the romance is so watered down that the harem part can really only be applied to the fact that 75% of the cast is female. The fact that most harem series tend to be a rehash of much earlier harem mangas does not help. They are all basically the same thing, drawn by different people. I dislike manga that focus too much on battle as well, but that's not so much a genre as it is a writer running out of plot.

Harem anime can be different though if A: The main character is interesting and B: He actually makes a choice. There's nothing I hate more then a harem anime where there is NO reason all these girls should like the main character and then the show ends with no resolution

As for me, I don't particularly hate mecha anime, or love it. There are some really great mecha anime such as Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Code Geass Infinity Stratos TTGL is definitely one of the better animes in general imo. Code Geass has mecha aspects in it, but most of it is drama which makes it well with the comedy parts of it. And Infinity Stratos is definitely a harem anime, which I dislike, but it makes up for it since it's funny and it has awesome battle scenes. I didn't include any of the Gundam series because I never got in to it, and I tried to many times, so I won't make a opinion based of others. Oh, and I dislike horror animes because they scary, and I get scared easily.

I actually have no Idea how girls like Yaoi in the first place. Eureka 7 is a good mecha anime that me and my friends enjoyed even though one of them doesn't really watch a lot of anime. I like reverse harems and historical like Hakuoki Shinsengumi Kitan. yes, I know my sentences are all over the place and I am going off topic, I suck when it comes to forums.

What I basically dislike is perverted anime though its ok if its for comedic purposes (i.e. Kotoura-san) The reverse harems I watched were stuff like Hakuouki and Beloved Angel Angelique. Therefore, not perverted. The harems I have watched or at least seen mentioned are perverted stuff like School Days and KissxSis (I think that's a harem). I just don't like perverted stuff, really.

Although I love some school anime's e.g. (Clannad -.-) I think the genre itself is stupid <.<! + There are too many of them, they should really start making something else than almost only school life anime's

Let me clarify: School days is full of stds. Kiss x sis is twincest in which the male has been pulled the deus ex machina of we are not blood related so it is ok.

Yep, lots of harem hate up in this thread haha...ha I like harem anime, the good ones that I find anyway though I guess people's definition of good varies I liked Campione and Demon King, and I'm also really enjoying Da Capo III right now On topic, the genre I dislike is horror, not because the shows are bad though Exception to this would be Another, great atmospheric show, really liked it (not really much horror, just a lot of deaths lol)
