Bleach has Tosen Kaname and Aikawa Love. Yoruichi is also arguable, although she has always seemed to me to be a heavily tanned south pacific islander more than african to me. Macross had Claudia LaSalle. I know there's more but those are the serious characters that I can think of at the moment.
