I'm not sure whether to laugh, cry, laugh until I cry, or cry until I break down and start laughing.

Queens' Blade Rebellion has a dark-skinned character, not necessarily black, but still hot. Also, you might want to check out "Freezing". There is a black character in that series.

^ That was a rude statement. Even if I did, it wouldn't erase the fact that it was rude.

Beautiful cocoa skin master race.
All I can think of off the top of my head is Bleach, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Durarara, and Afro Samurai.

I think some of the mentions here are clearly not meant to be portrayed as "black" they just have dark skin which occurs more frequently than actual "african american" representations - which I'm sure is what the OP was inquiring about.

Well, it seems a moderator changed the title of the thread allowing for the broader interpretations. Black like White is such a catch all term and not really indicative of a particular ethinic group or groups. Actually they don't even need to be African American, just of African descent would probably be closer to what the OP was looking for. The only ones that I can think of off the top of my head who's appearances aren't sort of grotesque(as in have those clowny, unrealistic Sambo or Mammy lips or other offensively stereotyped features) are Claudia Grant/LaSalle from Robotech/Macross, some of the characters from Eureka 7, Lala from School Rumble, and a number of the characters from Michiko to Hatchin. The Boondocks sort of counts to me too, but I've never really watched the show.
