Space Battleship Yamato 2199

Hulu has all 3 seasons of Star Blazers, but none of the movies.

I will also add my voice to those who want to see this on Crunchy Roll.

The anime (watched it till episode 14) is very good. Plot, animation, artwork, music, voice-acting.. very good.
Its a pleasure to watch this classic in new garment |

I want this!
No I need this! But as much as I hope they simulcast it here, I bet Funimation gets it. |

That was too close, you were almost a Jill Sandwich.

Voyager Entertainment still holds the license Star Blazers and the movies. They are also involved in the production of the reboot. The question is what they'll do with distribution: will they take that on themselves or sublicense it to someone else? I'm still hoping they will work with CR to stream this, but considering Star Blazers is on Hulu that might be their preferred route. And I still don't understand why the movies aren't available anymore. Maybe something is in the works? Anyway, I thought I'd share this info. |

Hopefully these ratings will be enough impetus to get a simulcast here! :)

Ah Starblazers, my first anime love. Even if Fox ruined it.

Though one can argue that it didn't have a simulcast at all now they might think to try it since the international market is hard to predict? |

Still not happy (but not surprised) that it didn't get a simulcast.. Though ran into this today:
http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2013/04/21/star-blazers-2199-launching-for-international-fans So.. they renaming the port to Star blazers.. hope it doesn't get cut up and toooooooo localized.. I want to see it in original form not necessarily renamed and edited to fit the style in which I first saw this.. |

Well I vaguely remember this anime and if there is no simulcast ...oh well

I wish it's out there somewhere (legitimate) with subtitles but seems there isn't..
Though I'm still expecting Desslok to turn green magically.. |

I've got the first two seasons that Central Anime fansubbed but haven't gotten around to watching them yet.
Anyone else watched the live action movie from 2010 though? That made for an awesome summer blockbuster! |

I haven't bothered personally with the Live action as it was too different for me from what I grew up with. That's my own view of course. Just didn't have enough of the nostalgia I wanted. THIS however was far different. There were a few 10 minute previews of each of the movies out on youtube and it took me RIGHT back to being in grade school running home to watch Star Blazers. I never had the opportunity to watch it in the original Japanese so this was the next best thing. I know they changed a bit of the story for this story, however it still held that nostalgic pang that made me want to see this. Still pains me it's not being simulcast but I hope at some point it will be after all the movies are out. Until I can afford to buy anime again I'm going to have to wait.. besides what they want for the Blurays is outrageous.. but that's another thread
