"Whaling—that is, shooting whales with harpoons and leaving them to struggle for an hour or more before they die or are hacked apart while they are still alive—may seem like something out of the history books, but this bloody industry still goes on today in the face of international condemnation, and it’s disgraceful for any game to glorify it. PETA encourages video game companies to create games that celebrate animals—not games that promote hurting and killing them." -PETA

So by PETA's logic, any game that contains any crimes, be it against animals or people, means that company condones such acts. LOL!

LOL!! I heard about the PETA Mario game, but I had no idea about PETA euthanizing animals (mainly because... who gives a shit about PETA). Good laugh, thanks.

They were angry over the dogs in CoD and Mario's coonskin hat. There's probably other things I haven't heard of but seeing them get offended over such silly things makes it hard for me to take them seriously.

I guess after they were through with Pokemon they moved on to Assassin's Creed IV.LOL

What angers them? Do they think simulated whale killing will lead to a surge in potential whalers because the job sounds so fun and glamorous?

What if someone makes an Inuit(eskimo) survival game?!?! I PETA had its way the game character would starve to death!

I've shot, slashed, hacked and killed a lot of humanoid video game characters in many brutal, violent and gory video games but I've never killed any other human being and I don't want to start any time soon. We live in a world where we barely take part in profound moral confrontations and what many video games allow us to do is be part of those moral confrontations where often you have to make not only conscious decisions but subconscious ones as well.

So what if you see a whale get killed in a video game? So what if you take part in the hunt? Well I don't know that would affect people but I do know this video game makes such a confrontation accessible and not just something that you see or hear about in the news. The rest is up to that person.

Apparantly games where you hunt and skin non-whale animals, such as Red Dead Redemption, Far Cry 3, Assassins Creed 3, latest Tomb Raider to name a few. You would think thse would get them in a hissy but.....no.....odd, odd people

The picture just shows Edward Kenway sailing on his pirate ship with a whale in the background.
According to PETA's logic, that must mean the pirates will be hunting whales in the game.
The game isn't even out yet for crying out loud.

I killed a cat in Assassin's Creed 3, someone call PETA.

Anyone see their "Pokemon" game? It's not ok for People to use Pokemon to fight other Pokemon, but it's fine for pokemon to fight people right?

To quote Eric Cartmen, "I think they've got some sand in their vaginas"

Oh and another south park qoute, "F**k You Whaaale and a F**k you Dolphiiiiin" they did bomb Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Oh wait, that was chicken and cow

And yea, an epic shrug did occur with such vigor that neither the heavens clapped nor did the earth tremble. So mighty was this display of apathy that the winds did not howl, the seas did not rise, the cities stood as before, and not a tear was shed for its coming.

See, PETA? I can inflate nothing into something enormous too.
