"Swimming Anime"

So I was on my wonderful Tumblr today and I came across a thing called "Swimming anime" I was really confused on what this was till i found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByhP478ZPQI

This video hasn't even been up for 24 hours and it already is getting a big fandom even though it's actually just a commercial. Will this be a new thing that just appears out of nowhere like homestuck or will it fade away. It even has some fan art already and yet again, it hasn't even been a day.

They're just kinda like animation demos.
