What is the point of it all?

People are not possessions. That's the point.

It also teaches you risk management. The point to opening your heart to someone just to have them leave you is to teach you how to manage relationship risk and every other bit of risk you'll encounter in your life.

I really hate to tell you this, but you will meet a TON of really awesome people in your lifetime. I mean a ton. There are so many fantastic people all around you. I've met so many wonderful, intelligent, happy, sad, angry, brilliant, loud, burning mad people in my short life.... and I continue to meet more...

....but you know what... 80% of them will not be a part of your daily life in 20-30 years. That's normal, and it's not as horrible as it may seem. You are lucky to meet, love, laugh, cry, and walk away alive with good and bad memories of the people you meet though out your life.

Growing old is luck; opening your heart to as many people as you can along the way... that's just icing.

People come into your life for a reason. When they're no longer needed in your journey, they exit somehow.

Why would you make ties to people at all? I only have a small group that I would associate with, that I'd help in need, or give money too. There are very few people that I trust. Anyone out of my small group of friends either means something or nothing to me. I don't make ties or bonds with anyone. I see their purpose meaningful if they make it meaningful or vice versa whether they want it to or not.

Because this earth is too damn crowded...

But seriously OP, I think your emotions are clouding your mind too much if you honestly believe that asking those rhetorical questions will help you any... You already have your answers to those questions... I think what you should really be asking your self is "who am I living for? WHAT am I living for?" There's more to life than chasing after feelings of infatuation...

We live to serve a purpose and we must be able to love the purpose we have chose. If you don't, then your living a pointless life. We live to love another, we live to take the risk of being put down by people we care about and must keep trying till we have found a soul who we can learn to love and be treated properly by it. It is better to have tried then not to have tried at all because at the end of the day if you haven't tried, then you never will. In the book of life, the answers aren't all the way in the back. Carpe Diem people. Carpe Diem... or if your to far into society then for you its YOLO!

Well everything we encounter makes us who we are. While it might hurt sometimes you just need to move on, humans aren't meant to just stay the same. My best advice is to take a step back, take a deep breath, and understand that life just doesn't always go the way you want it to. While life can mercilessly screw you over, it does give give you those awesome moments.

Anyway, I know that while some people can be total arses, there are others that are the total opposite. I know that I don't know what you do, but if that relationship didn't work out, I'm sure you will find another that is honestly perfect for you, not just when its convenient for them. The way I think is that things happen for a reason and we need to try learn something from our experiences even though it hurts like crazy at times.

Well theres my input I guess, I wish you the best of luck wwe

Life without people is cold, empty, maddening and safe.
Life with people is complex, joyful, painful, and risky.
Every person you meet, and open yourself up to, shapes who you are and who you will become.
You have to strike a balance that works.
Finding that balance is something that can take most of your life.

"Why are there so many stupid question threads on Crunchyroll"
If only Crunchyroll could let people customize the home page so I could remove all these threads.
