Why are people hating on Short length anime
|
I've been looking at some of the short featured animes on Crunchyroll and many people are reviewing them low because they're short. Why are people hating these shows because they're short?
Some short anime are actually good in quality. Encouragement to Climb is actually an excellent 3 minute anime too me. It doesn't have crappy animation and it's pretty smooth and cute (It doesn't seem like it was made in 3 minutes. Effort seemed to have prevailed). They are quite entertaining because most short anime come from 4 panel manga. Some other good short anime that I enjoyed were Poyopoyo, Senyu, Mangirl!, Recorder and Randshell) I think many anime here that are 3 minute long are being reviewed poorly because of their length. Senyu has some poor reviews because it's too short. Also is it because CR is a ON DEMAND service so there isn't commericals and a 24 minute length episode between the shows? I can admit that some short length are crappy or poorly animated (*cough* Teekyu, Ai Mai Mi *cough*) but why do people rate them poorly...? |

Didn't like the BTOOOM! and Sword Art Online ending...

It feels like I have ADHD when I watch them.

My life can't be this lame.

It depends on if it's well done or not. If it it's poorly done, and/or seems to have stop with some kind of cliff hanger, I will probably complain.
But if it was well done, for example, like AnoHana was, it's so well done I'd feels selfish if I asked for more. |

I fucking love gifs.

Many are animated with "Flash" or another web based technology. The stories are usually rushed and feel like they were written on the back of a matchbook. Admittedly I found Poyopoyo (http://www.crunchyroll.com/poyopoyo) to be somewhat humorous. The animation was crap, but it's a cute story. |

Nothing is true, everything is permitted.

~~ Ok so a lot of people don't hate the fact that they're short necessarily, but if they do then they have no room to. For instance, a bit of people disliked InuXBoku Secret Service because there was only 13 episodes and the storyline didn't really have any meaning to it considering there wasn't a full out romance or explanation of any plot that could have took place, but didn't. So because of the abrupt ending and pointless storyline people weren't to happy about it. This happens commonly in short anime because the director didn't have a long enough time period to extend the series.
~~~ Now on the other hand if they're hating on it just because it's short, like Maid-Sama (which was an extremely good short handed anime) then they have no room what's so ever to talk because it had everything any other romance anime would need. NO ROOM TO HATE! |
I Love Encouragement to Climb :3
the only reason I can think of that people dislike short type anime is because they think that CR shouldn't spend their money getting these short shows when they should be bidding for the "bigger blockbuster" shows every season
*that's based on some comments on these forums from the past few seasons* I don't think some people understand that CR tries to get every show possible and that they are also competing against the likes of TAN and FUNI to stream these shows I personally enjoy quite a few of the shorts that CR manages to get but oh hell no, you better not be hating on Teekyu, that is an amazing short anime |
believes that D-Frag and Nisekoi deserve an anime
I like encouragement and mangirl, but with them so short if I sneeze I miss a quarter of the episode
I gots internet, YAY!
I hate them because after the ~3 minutes of pure enjoyment- I feel cheated, having to wait a full week for an episode that is 1/8 the length of a normal one.
Other than that, I love them- especially the Encouragement of Climb and Senyu. Also the Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya as well. |
well don't mind short anime as long as it doesn't leave me hanging or i am left with some half assed ending (sukitte ii na yo).
12 episode animes are usually the best.... better stories because they are not stretched out
Why does no one talk to me ;(
Personally I don't hate them for being short, other than if the story is just isn't my cup of tea
To those who hate three min anime, how can you hate this!? XD |
