How difficult do you find meeting people to talk about anime/manga with.

Not so much on the internet but locally in your area. One thing I have always found I struggle to do, is interact with my friends about anime and manga because so few of them are even remotely interested and even fewer look past the "popular" ones such as One Piece, Naruto and Bleach.

I must admit that my enjoyment of watching Shoujo stuff makes it harder seeing as most of my friends are males but even some of the more diverse(as far as western audiences are concerned go) animes they seem to not be interested in because its not the big titles.

I've never really wanted to. Plenty of other things to talk about.

I got other things to talk about, but being into anime and manga as much as I am, I would like to talk about it every now and then.

I don't know anyone outside the internet that is into anime or manga which is a bummer because I enjoy it so much it would be nice to have people to talk about it face to face instead of online.

I don't like talking to people about stuff we have in common.. That's boring. I like talking to people about stuff I don't know about, I just love listening to other people talk about subjects/topics I'm not familiar with..

I have like 12 actual friends outside of the internet who are into manga and anime. And it's pretty awesome. We all have different tastes. so we're always suggesting anime and manga to each other. It's incredibly fun

It wasn't and isn't especially difficult. I know at least 10 people I could talk anime with at any time. Some I met in high school, some in college, and some in other places. If you're having trouble finding someone to chat anime with, stack the deck a little and make some buddies at an anime convention.

Think outside the box, your pals don't have to live in your city or town.

Not to difficult I'd say, I love my local comic/pop culture emporium, great for meeting people with the same interests. Most of the time it's mustering up the courage to talk to them since I'm a shy person.

My girlfriend is as much into gaming and anime as I am, so it has never been a problem. If I really feel the need to gab about it more I either go onto a forum like this, or head down to my local manga bookshop and chat with the owner.

Dont get me wrong, I enjoy finding out about new things and I can talk to people about stuff I dont know much about.

But you must enjoy talking to people about stuff you enjoy aswell? If not then do you really enjoy it?

Sometimes.. But I enjoy listening to people more than I do talking (especially since I do a LOT of talking/lecturing at work lol). And listening to people talk about stuff I'm already familiar with is not as interesting to me. I have a friend whom I can talk to about anime and whatnot, but what often happens is I do a lot of the talking since I'm very opinionated and have a lot to say about topics I know by heart... It's not as enjoyable to me as when I'm just listening to my best friend talk about Breaking Bad or Sons of Anarchy, shows which I DON'T watch... It's weird, but I like meeting people who are different from me. I like to learn from other people. If I just stuck with people who have similar interests and whatnot, then I fear that I won't grow as a person. I would've never gotten into indie and foreign films if not for my best friend (who hates anime by the way lol). I find that I learn a lot about myself when I encounter people who have different interests from me because they tend to open my eyes to a lot of things that I probably would've never paid attention to by myself.

I have never really met anyone in person who was that interested in it, without seeking them out directly. I hit up the local college club a few times, but most of the members were so enthusiastic that I realized I mostly just like watching it, and not necessarily talking about it or worrying about the production-related details (voice actors, studios, etc...) I just felt really out of place.

With my girlfriend it sucks because over the years she has only enjoyed a few : Hetalia, Soul Eater, and Yakitate! Japan. I've tried to expose her to a wide variety but usually she just isn't interested. Mostly I just keep it to myself or sometimes discuss shows I really like online.

I don't have any friends who like anime and manga, but my older sister and younger brother and sister love it, so I talk to them.

I also have two cousins, one who likes anime but not manga, and the other one who isn't that much into anime but likes a couple of them.

But it would be nice to have some anime/manga friends outside of the Internet.
