Hooray another ComiPo Contest!

More opportunities to create random things!
It certainly has been a long while since our last ComiPo contest, but it seems like Crunchyroll is still trying to drum up interest.
I can see they are hoping people will capitalize on their ComiPo discount and perhaps gather more people into the ComiPo community.

However, there don't seem to be many entries....

From what I can see (from what's been added to this thread) the list of entries is as follows:
(Entry #. Link [Author])
1. http://www.crunchyroll.com/comics/comipo/neko-neko-seiji-kun/volumes [By LadyManson]
2. http://www.crunchyroll.com/comics/comipo/antirade/volumes [By Juneberrychan]
3. http://meygaera.deviantart.com/gallery/42644564 [By meygaera]
4. http://tqqkkqq.deviantart.com/gallery/42649383 [By Tqq]
5. http://www.crunchyroll.com/comics/comipo/the-adventures-of-aulrich-mensaz-master-explorer/volumes [By Spectre77]

It seems that the ComiPo community hasn't had much of a chance to grow here, so competition is tight.
But there's still the excitement of winning the contest to fuel you onwards!

(Note: NOT a contest submission)

Oh wait, that isn't excitement....they're just my depressed feelings after EVERY contest.....

Regardless, it's still fun to be able to create something!
I had been hoping for the ComiPo, or the new Crunchyroll Comics, to start picking up steam, but it doesn't seem to have grown much.
Perhaps some Front Page space might help it out? I didn't even realize it existed until a while ago. It can be hard to navigate to if you've never heard of it.
And perhaps some more Administrative Involvement might help? Contests are of course always welcome, but why not have some Manga Series going? Like a comipo tutorial series, or a manga crafting tutorial series, where everyone gets involved?

Here's something I tried, an "Anime Terms" 4-koma.
A quick look at "Tsundere": http://www.crunchyroll.com/showphoto?id=4310156315

I'm sure lots of people could spread their otaku knowledge through ComiPo given the chance!

Well, that's it from me.
Good luck to the Contestants!

Are those really the only entries? Maybe some people submitted applications but did not post a link in the forums (Patrick did mention something about people using the demo/trial version). At any rate the winners are supposed to be announced today, maybe the deadline will get extended again. I personally wouldn't mind because I had planned to make more pages but my friend called me up last week and said "hey! want to go to PAX EAST for free?"

Well I guess everyone is just waiting to hear the results.
But other than prizes, I assume people entered to be able to create something fun and interesting to show off to people!

So I took the liberty of going through the 5 entries that seemed to have entered through this thread. ( http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-794887/make-manga-using-comipo-win-prizes?pg=3#42659265 )
I'm no expert, but I tried using the Contest Categories (ambition, execution, storytelling, entertainment) in order to give my own, personal ranking of what I thought MIGHT be the outcome, and also to add some comments of each!

So, without further ado:

Ambition (I just based this on the apparent amount of work that went into each work: the number of pages, the attention to detail etc))
1. The adventures of ~Aulrich Mensaz II~ Master Explorer (This one had a lot of dialogue and story added into it. Now, they didn't seem to officially say whether you could use something you had previously put some work into or not, but I can still see that a lot of quality work was put into it regardless.)
2. Neko neko seiji-kun
3. Antirade
4. some other world
5. 20130318 Emi (Don't feel bad, the competition was pretty tough! Have fun trying out more features and creating with ComiPo!)

Execution (This is just based on overall quality, the composition of panels and details and such. Also how well the basic idea of the story is conveyed)

1. The adventures of ~Aulrich Mensaz II~ Master Explorer (It had a good sense of humor, taking a serious look at "japanese" (manga) culture! I got the feeling all the way through of some eccentric british gent and his crazy misconceptions.)
2. Neko neko seiji kun (There was a good build up and then twist ending that left you wondering and expecting more! The paneling had an interesting setup that was different from the standard layout, and the effects were good as well)
3. Antirade (There's a good dreary, then thrilling atmosphere here)
4. some other world
5. 20130318 Emi

Storytelling (Is there a focused and clear plotline, a lack of spelling/grammar mistakes and sudden scene changes)

1. The adventures of ~Aulrich Mensaz II~ Master Explorer (I noticed some spelling/grammar errors, but considering the amount of dialogue I thought I could let some slide. Great plot idea, it's a pretty funny scenario!)
2 Antirade ( Although a little cliched in my opinion, it was a solid little peek into what seems to be a much more thrilling story )
3. Neko neko seiji kun (I did get a bit confused about some panel transitions and some plot backstory, but overall it was an interesting story idea)
4. some other world (Unfortunately it seems that your 4-koma style doesn't really fit well into the storytelling ranking.... but overall it was funny taking a look at some other random world and their random business/slacking shenanigans.)
5. 20130318 Emi ( Will Emi Repair it in Time?!?!? Was it sabotage??!?!?!?)

Entertainment (This was hard to determine, so I mostly used this for Bonus Points)

1. The adventures of ~Aulrich Mensaz II~ Master Explorer (Points for using the phrase “dastardly squiggles”)
2. Neko neko seiji kun ( Points for Cats )
3. some other world (Points++ for coding references)
4. Antirade ( Mysterious
points )
5. 20130318 Emi (Points for trying!)

Well, I just made these up myself so I hope no one takes them too seriously, they're just for fun and random comments!
Good Luck to everyone again!
