Getting shots is easy compared to the fear of total n00bs trying to stick a IV needle into your arm without them bursting the vien or hitting an artery. That was a fun semester in college.

I don't mind it. It's no fun but I don't stress when I know I have to get a shot or two.

The only time I've gotten a jab in living memory was in school just earlier this year (it was a standard one, for Hepatitis, I think). I was really surprised when she said she was done, though - it was more or less instantaneous and I didn't feel a thing. Dunno if that holds true for other needles, but it's a heck of a lot better than my parents' generation; they've still got scars from it

Not at all. I've had plenty of shots and gotten my blood drawn. Needles are nothing.

You hopefully will be able to look forward to a newly created needle that is painless in the future. A Japanese entomologist/inventor recently created a needle that mimics the blood-sucking mouth parts of a mosquito. Currently they only are using this tech for the purpose of diabetic lances but they are underway to releasing a hypodermic needle which will be used for delivering vaccines. The needles will have serrated edges and be of a much narrower gauge of steel than the needles which are used currently. The U.S. has already contracted for the purchase of these needles. As for the diabetic lances they will hopefully soon become a thing of the past a company called Biozoom (BIZM) is in the works of completing essentially a tricorder which will be capable of running basic chem panels, oxygen scans, and blood sugars scans from lightly placing the monitor to your skin for approximately 30-60 seconds.

yes, very. when i was 14 i punched my doctor in the face. to this very day it says combative on my medical chart. that is not something a doctor wants to look down and see when when treating a 250lb lacrosse player.

I actually enjoy the feeling of a needle puncturing my flesh and extracting large amount of blood from my body. The feeling's unbelievable.
...
Man, I can still feel it even after 2 hours!

no there not really scary but i do get that slight quick of breath when they come in with the supplies and say "u ready" none of the shots have ever bothered me except only one shot, forgot the name of it. but anyway the shot was meant for my right arm and the needle was fairly long but not hella crazy . anyway the nurse put the shot in my upper part of my arm and im not sure if she did it correctly cus i felt a huge pain shoot up and actually i felt like it went through my muscle and kinda touched my bone.

cus i had super watery eyes, i was trying to hold them back so i tilted my head kinda worked long enough until she walked out.lol anyway i think she knew she did it wrong cus i felt her adjust it and pull slightly back i didnt tell her cus to me personally it wasnt a big deal or it could be from all the shots i got in that one arm left arm i had gotten 2 Right arm i got 4.

but either way i was sore for probably 2 months 1st half the month i srsly couldnt raise my right arm cus it felt so painful and like i had just done 100 reps of arm work possible ,using all the muscles u could think of in an arm. plus ma bone hurt.haha so i couldnt sleep on the side or face down most of the time. but after the 2 month arm start feeling normal again. either way that shot hella hurt .cx

Shots never bothered me very much, its the actual watching a needle be poked into my muscle that creeps me out. So, naturally, I look away and chit chat with the person who is giving me the shot.
