Does*

It used to...then I had to get my allergy check.
128 shots later (yes it was in one visit) I stopped caring.

When I take a shot by myself its fine. But when you have to take it with other people like in school or with your family and they start saying things like "Aww that hurts" or "I can't fell my arm" I get terrified. Mostly because once an anime is finished I don't want to lift my arm.

It's not there to hurt you, it's to help you. Get over it.

Man, is this ever so relevant to my life right now...

Almost every two weeks for the past 2 months I've undergone steroid injections (pain mgt), and except for the occasional 3 week stretch, I have another 4-6 months to go! This does not bode well for either myself or the medical staff. I sort of have a history....

Between the ages of 6 weeks to 7 years old, I had many surgeries. Now, I'm just heading into my mid-40s...times were different in many ways, including paediatrics. The field has come far in regards to how they approach children both medically & mentally. I had a penchant to fight the staff if they were coming at me with sharp objects.

I eventually learned how to quell such violent, if self-protective, tendencies. In fact, I'd say I've been successful almost 99% of the time. As an adult, I've smacked the occasional physical therapist... but only when severe pain has caught me by surprise!

During these recent injection treatments, I'm often caught by surprise. It's kind of the "Nature of the Beast" since they use the pain as a guide to ensure they are hitting the right spots. It would be a real bad scene if I can't maintain my cool. Quite unfortunate, to say the least.

I don't know what you are facing, but the best advice I can give is to be open & honest with whomever you are dealing. Pay attention to your reactions as you may find ways in which you better cope with the fear, & in my case, the anger, as well. For example, I came to understand that I could control myself much better when the staff wouldn't forcibly cover my eyes, turn my head away, etc. In situations where I'm able & allowed to see what's happening to me, I watch everything. This lessens the surprises therefore increasing everyone's safety & comfort level.

Whatever is going on, I wish you success & peace of mind. ~Cheers!

Not really, but it really is annoying if the needle wiggles while it's still in your flesh. It's like wtf stop trembling.

Shots as in drinks, on the other hand, are welcome most of the time.

nope, maybe the first time but not anymore.
A few weeks ago, I got at least 10shots/day (well most of them were for drawing blood), also apparently my veins are really thin, so usually they try stabbing my arm, fail, try again, and then just stick it in my hand =_=, so i guess i learnt to be ok with them.

I'm really not. The only thing that really scares me about that is if its fucking HUGE cause those things can hurt if they're super big they don't feel like just pinches anymore. And another thing that for some reason scare me is if I have to get my finger pricked (but I'm not scared of shot so I just?? I don't even know.)
