So long as I don't look at them, no. It is kind of funny that I've had several hundred needles shoved into me, yet I still get weirded out watching the process. Having a port installed and used was far easier.

I got poked with a needle today at the doctors' office when they took some of my blood for testing. They're interested in seeing what makes me tick.

Errr... No. I actually get happy when I get shots. People who are beside me usually cry, most of the times for the girls. Afterwards, they act tough and mighty how they endured the pain. I was like "wtf"? and smirked.

When I was younger I didn't care about getting shots.

I do now though. I do everything in my power to avoid getting them.

Not really. Given it's a regular in-the-arm shot, it doesn't hurt. I'm really not too keen on the sight of needles though..

For me, it depends on who's giving them. Whether or not I trust and/or like them, and how good they are at sticking is important to me. Some people, like my mother, are pretty much veterans at sticking. Them knowing what they're doing often determines how painful they are. My phlebotomist mother is very good and practiced at drawing blood, and I trust her with any sort of needle. I'd let her stick me in a heartbeat. In fact, I let her draw my blood three times, and she injected me with dog/cat and dust mite serums for about a year (legally).

No not really unless its one of those jumbo shots that you get at the dentist. Makes me scared just thinking about those suckers. Another thing that annoys me sometimes is getting my blood drawn. I wouldn't mind it...if my veins weren't so hard to locate feeling that needle just move around in my arm makes me feel so....weird..

ITT: First world problems.

I personally don't feel any distress with needles.

I think of it as.."If I don't get it , I'll probably suffer much worse later on"...like my wisdom teeth. Got them removed while I awake...crushed in many many pieces lol., but didn't feel a thing with all those shots... .didn't care since the pain from the wisdom teeth was killing me.

They (American: injections, shots UK: 'jabs') scare the heck outta me! I have to get some here soon due to the college program I'm in requiring them. I hate it because the nurse always inserts them like a frickin serial killer. The nurses always stab me and the needles are always soooo long. I HATE IT!!!! Then my arm is sore and I'm pissy the rest of the day.

Pssh! That's nothing. Try an amniocentesis needle, or a spinal block needle....now THAT'S pain. Imagine what diabetics have to do on a daily basis...insulin shots 3x a day....blood glucose checks every 3 or so hours (finger pricks). Just be glad you aren't a woman nor a diabetic. (P.S. try taking some pain meds 30 min before the shots, that will help you. We do that here for young kids sometimes. Also bring a lollipop/sucker/ and suck on it as you get your shot. The sucking motion activates a little bit of your body's natural pain killers.) Also, don't look at it, some of the pain may be psychosomatic.

Not really I know they are necessary to my health. The only shots I'm afraid of are the ones to the gums when you go to the dentist. Can you say "OUCH!"

Very few are actually good for your health (gangrene, smallpox, rubella, etc.. ).
But generally spoken: The less, the better.

I haven't gotten a shot for a while now, so I forgot how it/I felt.
I'm not that scared though. I don't like them, but I'm not scared of them.
