I havent gotten around to watching magi but HxH is definately not going to be like that, its a little bit (not much) more intelligent than either of those and will probably end after the next arc, due to the manga being basically stopped made there (apparently health reasons)

Magi anime is fast paced and from what I hear it's already very close to the manga. Some people say that it will have a filler ending, but nothing is confirmed.

The same with HxH. The manga has been on hiatus for almost a year with no return date set as of yet. The Greed Island arc is too fast paced IMO. They only have two arcs left to animate. The Chimera Ant arc, which is the next arc in the anime is about 130 chapters long, and I'm hoping that they don't speed through it like they are doing with Greed Island. Then the Election arc which is about 20 chapters long. I actually see the anime ending at the Election arc, because the last chapter of that arc serves as a great and a suitable ending spot.

So to answer it, HxH manga could've been considered as part of the "Big 3" if it didn't go into so many hiatuses. Magi is is becoming more popular thanks to the anime, but there are tough competitions for it like Kuroko no Basket and the new popular manga Assassination Classroom which was able to sell over a million copies with only the first 2 volumes. That's crazy, because new series usually don't sell like that.

Even if Magi is close to the manga, its not close enough to reach it in 25 episodes(not to mention manga isnt complete). So if they are going to complete the story there might be a second season or so.

Hunter x Hunter manga is on hiatus and has been (more or less) since 2006. I kinda doubt that it's going to continue at this point.

I love HunterXHunter and Magi, but I don't think Magi will be as big as HunterXHunter.

I feel that HunterXHunter will be as big, but better than Bleach and Naruto. (No offense, Bleach/Naruto fans! I just think they dragged it out too long and that it's a bit over rated....)

But Magi however....I will be sad when it ends, but not as sad as I will be about HunterXHunter....

I adore Hisoka....haha.

Magi's anime is shit. If it got a decent adaptation, it would be bigger than Naruto/Bleach easily.

HxH is already bigger than those. Naruto classic is basically a copy from the Hunter Exam.

They might slow down after the Greed Island Arc - its probably fast right now because its already been serialized (1999 version) up to Greed Island Arc. At least I hope so.

How are they speeding through it? Are chapters being cut or are they just doing a bunch in one episode? HxH has been an enigma for me. I have always found it very...slow, even now. Yet I still can't stop myself from loving it.

Yes in Greed Island they've been skipping stuff that were essential in understanding how the game works or they've been rushing them. They've been doing like 4 chapters an episode. The arc will have 17 episodes and it was 66 chapters in the manga. Of course it will be fast paced since they're animating 66 chapters in just 17 episodes. I get the feeling that they just want to get to the Chimera Ant arc which is an arc that hasn't been animated before. I don't care that much about this since it's still good and Greed Island is not my favorite arc.

You can compare it with the previous arc which had a much better pacing. The Yorknew City arc was 56 chapters in the manga and they animated it in 22 episodes.

Wait, I know it's been a while since I've read the manga but what exactly have they cut out? I can't say I've felt like they've left anything out from the manga. I also feel the pacing to be pretty appropriate, then again that's the fun thing about opinions.

With any luck the author will start up again before the manga gets through the Chimera arc so they can continue the anime.

The Chimera Ant Arc is long, but I hope whatever they do, Gon finds his dad in the end, or at least find out if he is dead.

for Magi , on wikipedia it says there is 24, on anime news network says there is 25. so it is sort of uncertain. but I hope that it will be as long as naruto or bleach. I enjoy this one. I like hunter x hunter even more I REALLY hope that hunter x hunter will be on-going forever.

Don't blindly belive what it says on Wikipedia. Wikipedia is editted by anyone, not an official source.

AnimeNewsNetwork says 25.
Though they add more as an anime goes on, so it might have more.

As for HxH, I doubt it'll be one of the nest "Big ones".

Don't worry, that's one of the animes that ANN will add more than that episodes to.
I'm expecting it to get at least 100 episodes.

Most of the stuff they skipped were at the beginning where Gon and Killua were still learning about the game. Something they skipped which made some people I've talked to angry is Gon teaching Killua how to win in Rock-Paper Scissors. I can see why they got angry because that was the first hint of Gon's special attack that he learned. I actually see why they skipped stuff or sped through them. Maybe they thought all the rules of the game and the different cards were boring to some people.

There was a lot of talk that Togashi will start doing the series on a weekly basis since the anime started. Now that we are close to the Chimera Ant arc, I've kinda lost hope that HxH will return as a weekly published series with no long hiatuses.

Again I will say this, HxH is already considered one of the big ones. I'm not talking about length, I'm talking about success. I will compare it to Naruto and Bleach because people seem to think those are part of the "Big 3", but I don't see the appeal in Bleach.

HxH anime's weekly ratings are about the same as Naruto's and sometimes better. The manga sales again are the same as Naruto. Both of them sell about 1.5 million copies a volume. HxH sells more than Bleach. Bleach sells around 700k copies a volume, thus making HxH more successful than Bleach, thus "Bigger". I don't look at the overall sales of the series because Bleach is a regularly running series that releases 4 volumes a year, while HxH goes into hiatuses thus only 1 or 2 volumes released in a year max, and still the overall sales of HxH from last year were more than Bleach.

So what I'm trying to say is, HxH is not the next big series, it's already is a big series.
