Wait, I know it's been a while since I've read the manga but what exactly have they cut out? I can't say I've felt like they've left anything out from the manga. I also feel the pacing to be pretty appropriate, then again that's the fun thing about opinions.

With any luck the author will start up again before the manga gets through the Chimera arc so they can continue the anime.

Most of the stuff they skipped were at the beginning where Gon and Killua were still learning about the game. Something they skipped which made some people I've talked to angry is Gon teaching Killua how to win in Rock-Paper Scissors. I can see why they got angry because that was the first hint of Gon's special attack that he learned. I actually see why they skipped stuff or sped through them. Maybe they thought all the rules of the game and the different cards were boring to some people.

There was a lot of talk that Togashi will start doing the series on a weekly basis since the anime started. Now that we are close to the Chimera Ant arc, I've kinda lost hope that HxH will return as a weekly published series with no long hiatuses.

Oh right, I did forget about that. They never make any major cuts and changes and honestly it's been so long since i've read it now. I know when they first started back up it was around the time I last read the series so I was a lot more keen on some of the smaller changes they've made and they bugged me too.

I remember around the time that the last movie came out, they released a special about Kurapika and his village and they hinted at the series starting up again sometime in the new year. Granted it being half way through march now who knows, but until they officially cancel the manga I'll always look forward to the next arc starting up (and hopefully continuing more than 3 months without another hiatus).

I haven't watched Magi yet since by the time i catch up to it, I will have to wait a week to watch the next one which is no fun. As for Hunter x Hunter I'm a huge fan of both the adaptations & the manga itself. HxH is already on the top charts already since i don't see any flaws with unlike the other Top Animes.. Hmm I don't fear filler since we are way too far away from the manga maybe like 100 more episodes it will catch up to it. Even if there were fillers we could get backstories to the characters which would be interesting since they might be under Togashi's directing

When it went into hiatus they said this one will not be as long as the previous hiatuses. Next Friday it will be one year since the last HxH chapter was released. One year is about the average length of the hiatuses so I don't know why they said this one will be shorter
Yeah I was hopping the series would continue after the kurapika one-shot. I want it to have the same amount of chapters as the last run or more before going into the next hiatus. The next arc with the Dark Continent looks promising.

I feel like Magi is slowly going downwards and will completely go into a pitfall in the near future. It's just not that exciting and the series is getting pretty dry.. it was exciting and fun when it started though.

Also, I watched the old school Hunter x Hunter and read the manga a long time ago.. it's a great and very unique anime though! I love the story and I enjoyed the old show as well. I'm kind of waiting until it reaches the Bug arc because the old anime stopped right before it got to it.. I've seen some of the new HxH episodes and they're really crisp in quality and still really fun to watch.

I don't think Magi is going to be anything special in the future, but Hunter x Hunter definitely will!

I don't think either are going to make it to a Naruto/Bleach kind of status.
They really aren't quite the type of series that would go all the way up top. They're very close, but in the end, it's darker and aimed at an older audience.
Magi, as an anime, seems to be catching up too fast. The manga is still going, and it's super interesting, but every once in a while, something comes up that says, "this shouldn't be MAINSTREAM mainstream". Like the whole deal with Magnostadt's revolution and caste system. The non-fanservice nudity.
At most, it'll achieve a Soul Eater like popularity.

As for HxH, I'm pretty sure the series is as old, if not older that every one of the top 3/4/5 excluding One Piece. If it was going to reach the top, it would have done so ages ago, along with Naruto and whatever.

HXH is already bigger than Naruto and Bleach in Japan. HXH has constant hiatus but stills maintains popularity.
