So I just purchased this 12 figure set for

Premium Member Price: $6.20
+$5.30 shipping

$11.50 (including shipping).

http://www.crunchyroll.com/store/p/30736/Nendoroid-Petite-Hatsune-Miku-Selection-PRE-ORDER

I thought it seemed kinda cheep at first and when I was browsing other sites I had noticed it was a much more expensive set everywhere else.

One reason this could be, is that these are cheep knock offs. Another reason and the more than likely one is that these are sold separate for the price listed on CR. I saw at a different site that these are going for 600 yen per figure.

However this comes directly from the CR page linked above..............

I bought these under the assumption that I am getting all 12 for the price I payed for when I checked out on CR. 12 is the number in the description and they also display all the pictures as well.

Most importantly, when I checked out there was no option for me to pick single figures or anything of that nature.

It was not till later that I found out they were going higher elsewhere "All sales final" right? What do you all think, fakes, mistakes, contradictions, a suspicious deal or a plain old steal?

You know it is kind of ambiguous... it says that there are 12 to collect.... what even more strange it that its a super pre-order...won't come in till September 2013... Interesting....

Yes I noticed that too.

I wanna say that today or yesterday was the official start of these pre-orders world wide, It's a very long wait for these indeed.

Ambiguous to say the least!! I wish Crunchy Roll did a better job in their description, looking over, it seems like a quick copy and paste job.

It would be nice to know what I actually purchased here. Nowhere does it mention "you get 1 random figure" or "you pick and choose1 figure"

Yeah, I think the store is a work in progress. Since Cr works with multiple vendors to process the order I think it's more on the vendors on how the page looks like. I have a few things on my wish list that haven't been restocked... or was never in stock to begin with since the store option was open on CR lol... However, if you do get all 12 what a great deal!

I see no issue when reading it. You have bought one single figure and not an entire set. "The six official characters are all included in brand new poses, and a number of fanmade characters are also included" is simply referring to the figures that are available to obtain and collect and not that all of those will be in the order. If it stated specifically that you would get all of the figures it would be different. Like, for example, the Hatsune Miku Nendoroid Petite Selection BOX **Preorder** listed here: http://www.jbox.com/product/PRE2157 As it reads though, and the price, it would only make sense that you are getting one figure.

That's funny you said you found items that were never in stock to begin with. I noticed that too.

This store is defiantly a work in progress. I think they have been making mistakes here and there. I ended up buying the "Sword Art Online: figma Asuna [PRE-ORDER]" for $54.99 with only a $5 shipping charge

Now they have Asuna's shipping cost set at $11 so it was very nice to save the 6 bucks and it seems like they haven't re-reneged, I would be very upset if they ended up charging me extra cash. I would like them to honer this (mistake?/deal?) as well.

Thanks for the site... wow so on the other site its $100 Yeah, I mean it is listed for really.. REALLY cheap and those figurines are usually much much more. So would you say that to preorder it, it is only the amount listed or the actual cost of the 1st figurine?

Yeah, I wish that the only things listed are stuff they have. You know I wonder if it was a special, perhaps? Or, possibly the rate changed? Dunno but I like saving money lol

Nowhere does it specifically state that I am only getting 1 random figure, However there is mention of getting all 12.

Hobby search includes the very same description as Crunchy Roll but they give you all 12.

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10219161

The thing is I just bought this on impulse thinking I was purchasing all 12. I didn't even know this was much more everywhere else and didn't even know that some sites sell each figure separately.

You are missing something. From the description you just linked:
12 pieces.
Please note that you cannot necessarily get all kinds of the items in one box.
There are 12 kinds of figure models.
Height: approx 65mm.
Copyright NBGI

That means there will be 12 figures in your order. Also, as much as I hate to actually say it, that is kind of the problem with impulse buying. Mistakes are much more easily made with it.

I think that site is actually a more expensive one unless the $100 includes shipping or something which I didn't really look into very much. Just grabbed a quick example. What do you mean though with the cost of the 1st figurine?

You know looking at that other site, I wouldn't be surprised of the cost was actually $61 instead of $6.20. Oh, nvm I figured it out in the other posing...

Yes your right but I don't necessarily believe that I am %100 at fault here. Crunchy Roll should do a much better job in their descriptions. They should always amuse that they are selling to someone that has never ever bought an anime figure before, and to be as clear of what they are actually selling to that rookie buyer.

To tell you the truth I just started collecting when crunchy roll store first opened. My first figure I ever purchases was racing Miku 2012.

http://www.crunchyroll.com/store/p/30338/Racing-Miku-2012-ver-17th-Scale-PVC-Figure-PRE-ORDER

I am growing just as the CR store is. In the end I just don't want to end up getting shafted, and I love saving money.

Except in the cases where the site has made some error with the cost like pricing something at $6.20 instead of $61 (Not saying this is what happened. I am just using the numbers since they are there.) or out and out fraud it is pretty much completely on the buyer to research and make sure they are getting exactly what they paid for though. Sure, the sites could and should try to be as clear as possible about things but ultimately it is on the buyer to figure it out.

Speaking of this particular incident I would say it is not an error of any kind with the price. $6.40x12 = $76.80 and $6.20x12 = $74.40 which would put the entire collection right up there on par with the clearly labeled complete sets offered on other sites.

Also, I would agree you are not 100% at fault here. I wasn't trying to say you were. The world may be the type where everything ends up being up to the buyer to check out but I believe the sellers should do a better job of things as well.

The CR store description could perhaps be better. Nonetheless, a price of $6.40 or $6.20 is almost certainly for only one figure-- there's no way one would get all 12 for that price. Six bucks for a Japanese anime figure is actually pretty cheap (though these particular figures are rather small in size). Other sites charging a lot more (e.g. $100 or whatever) are likely selling a case containing multiple figures (e.g. amiami is selling a case of 12 figures for Y5770, not including shpping), and typically it's a random assortment of the types available. To assemble a complete collection, one will either have to buy multiple cases, and/or trade figures with your friends.

Actually I have attempted to combine shipping costs on per-orders before (granted, not figures in the same set) and CR still charged separate for shipping so we might really be looking at $138 for members which is much higher than the other sites and would thus be unusually overpriced for CR's fair market prices.

It is also worth noting that the quantity limit on these figures are set at 10. Just try to ad 11 or 12 to your cart, It won't work. Its bizarre that you can't even select the whole set with out making two completely separate orders. Also who's to say that that wouldn't cause you to get duplicates.

Yea, I wasn't including shipping costs because of just how much that can vary from sites and even be free at times. I do find the limit of 10 to be odd except that maybe they think their supply is only enough for 10 per person. I can't really think of many reasons for that. I also am not sure that you wouldn't get duplicates in the boxes that you can buy from other sites. I think one of the sites I linked even said that there was no guarantee of what would actually end up in the box of 12.
