I have a box of MREs and some dried foods but nothing serious. I have a couple ax's but no guns or anything. If the world were to end I'd probably be screwed but oh well

Not with a bang but a whimper.

Remember December 21? Nothing happened exept it was my doomsday not the worlds doomday. Read about the Book Of Revelations and such. Almost went insane. Glad that's over. I don't think the world will end just in one day if such thing is to occour. I suppose it's happening slowly but surely right now.

This^ Except I gave way all our boxes of MREs (we live in hurricane central) to victims of hurricane Katrina and no longer have any. I've got no axes, but I do have a BB gun, a basic bow & arrows, 2 machetes, and a meat cleaver.

Knowing myself (self-proclaimed king of procrastination), I'd probably leave it until the last minute to get dried food.

Or do nothing at all, it depends on my mood really.

I prefer dying within seconds, rather than living post-apocalyptic world.

If things aren't well try to make it well. Do what you can with what you've got.

In other words. Make the most out of it!

Sit there chilling with my milkshake because that`s the last time I`ll get to taste milkshake.

Other than that, I`d probably go and meditate in my bedroom, just because I`d look cool if I die sitting down meditating.

Some of the preparations one would make for the zombie apocalypse will also keep you a little more comfortable, during other lesser 'disasters'. Like a prolonged and extensive power outage or a destructive weather phenomenon. Beyond the extra food water, generator, and first aid supplies (oh and month's worth of my medications always) I think you're wasting your effort. If the world becomes like the movie/book 'The Road' why would you want to live in it?

Personally no, like I have a couple guns, but I don't store food or anything. My parents have that covered. My folks live way out in the country and my mom is big into being prepared for anything and my dad is a gun collector. So if anything bad were to happen, I'd go out to their place and weather the storm with them. If it was something that was prolonged, like a "The Road" situation, I would still go out there.

Family is good to have and to stand by. If a doomsday scenario struck I doubt I could reach any of my family. A single day's air travel becomes a journey much longer than a thousand steps. ... First I'd have to get out of the city...
