I don't like the hating going on towards mac's I use mac's for business stuff (namely using adobe apps) and its great for that. I also game on them sometimes which they are only ok for but the new with the new iMac not only did they make it 5mm thick but they also beefed up its graphics capabilities making them in for the long haul with being competitive in the Personal Computer gaming market. Also Apple has been at the root of almost every major trend in the tech wold for many years. By this i don't mean that they invented every thing, but what they did was make it a great product and made it popular. The list includes, Ultra books, portable music players, digital music sales, smart phones, upright unibody desktops with no tower, the computer mouse, firewire, tunderbolt, etc. finally the last thing Job's was working on before he died was digital textbooks so that there was no longer any need to carry around heavy expensive textbooks, instead students could have inexpensive text books on there phone, tablet, or computer. Oh, and did I mention that there operating system, with the exception being Lunix costing $0, Mac OS 10.7 (Lion) when it came out cost only $29.99 the least expensive operating system then lowering it again to $19.99 with the Mountain Lion upgrade. Now are they over priced starting at $1,300 for an iMac and $1,000 for a laptop? Yes, maybe a bit but for what you are getting in terms of business it is worth it because it will pay for its self fairly quickly. Although if you want a gaming computer I, owning a small computer company and being and avid gamer, would suggest building one your self, or having one build.

I think the question should have been stated a bit different but I shall share my thoughts. As for Linux it falls in the realm of PC. The difference I speak of is that the question maybe answered differently depending on if we are talking desktops or laptops. with that said I will leave you with my opinions. I will not by a mac I am tired of proprietary BS. Macs are hard to upgrade and your bound to go through Apple if you desire any such updates. Mac seem to be great for graphic applications where the PC shines in just about every other area, and if I wish to upgrade my PC hardware it is as simple as heading to the store or ordering parts of the net. As for laptops the issues are a bit different due their currently limited upgrade ability out of the box.

PC all the way!

I'm not hating on Macs though. I just don't use them since I've been a long time PC user.

I'm an OG Mac user and wouldn't have it any other way. The only reason why I run bootcamp on it is so I can play PC games.
