I liked sword art online. But the sibling attraction and the second season not being as good as the first threw me off.

A lot of people really underestimate how deep Naruto and Naruto Shippuden's story line actually is and how well they both connect the past and point to the future. They think that it's just a bunch of ninjas with crazy powers fighting for no reason. I think that's why Naruto has so much haters.

The only anime I've seen that I genuinely hated was the movie DEAD LEAVES (although I really did not like AKIRA.... close to hate, mainly the art style, but not quite). I've disliked other anime but I hated dead leaves.

High School of the Dead, off the top of my head. I couldn't tell if the show wanted to focus on zombies or panty shots and unrealisticaly jiggly breasts. I'm very skeptical of shows that use high amounts of fanservice to grow their audience. Couldn't bring myself to watch it.

I don't like shows that focus on that but hey, us women can be pretty guilty at times too.
Like how I started watching Blue Exorcist because I saw the cover of the first manga volume at Barnes and Nobles, and thought the main character looked hot..
Or how I'm going to be watching Free! only because of shirtless guys swimming.

Hating an anime really depends on your taste: you see, I don't like scifi, so I tend to dislike scifi anime. Just as a scifi fan might love a scifi anime.

What I find most important, though, is the characters, the character development and the plot. So here's some anime where I thought that all was real bad.

Sword Art Online: I will admit, the first arc was a lot of fun to watch, even though it was repetitious. But the characters were very bland and boring and were all perfect with no flaws. Even Kirito, the hikikomori, still scored more girls than the "hot boys" in my grade could. The plot was horribly written and had many holes in it (he even came back to life in the end.. da fuq?) But I can't lie and say I didn't enjoy watching it. Well, the first arc that is.

Elfen Lied: Blood, gore, and a bad ass chick... with an extremely boring personality. The only thing you know about her, Lucy, is that she has a split-personality. Then it starts going into her past.. honestly, it was very boring and hard to watch.

I hate nearly all long-running shows like: Naruto, Naruto Shipuuden, One Piece, Fairy Tail and Beelzebub. Mainly because they use extremely long time to actually get somewhere, and secondly because mega-super-ultimate-battles lasting four or five episodes are amazingly irritating. Also, their main characters are all arrogant teenagers.
But the winner of my Most Hated Competition is Code:Breaker. The series is a cliched reruse of boring tropes, and even as much as I like shows about people with super-esper powers, the shows premise, characters and incredibly stiff dialogue make for a hopefully soon forgotten viewing experience.

I'm going to get a lot of shit for this, but I really can't stand Free!. I really don't see why this is hyped at all.

Unless you count the fact that the same 14-year-old girls who will bitch about people sexually objectifying women just want to sexually objectifying the main characters.

http://somebitchypikofan.wordpress.com/2013/07/04/free-first-impression/ (if you want the full reason)

Next is Amnesia. My God, it was boring. There was literally nothing there but a bunch of pretty pictures moving.

Now I want to talk about Hetalia. I'll put in in less than ten words: not funny and annoying characters.

Then we have Lucky Star. I watched all the episodes of this piece of shit when I was in sixth grade, and I liked it. Now, it saddens me when I remember that I actually liked it. Basically, it's like watching a documentary of someone else's life. I didn't feel for the characters, I didn't relate, and nothing happens. I mean, I know it's a slice of life, but for fuck's sake, make something happen.

And last but not least, Black Rock Shooter. Good fucking LORD was this a steaming pile of rotten flesh decaying in the hot dessert of Arizona. The story made no sense at all. Look, if you're in the middle of the anime, you're supposed to know what the hell is happening! That's not the case with this. The characters are also nothing that special. And GOD DAMN KAGARI THAT ANNOYING LITTLE SHIT!

There isn't a single show that I can say I hate the most, but here are a few shows that do create a burning passion of hatred inside me every time I try to watch them:

K-on: I was hoping for another cool, music based anime (Like BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad). Sadly, there is very little actual music in K-on, and the little bit of it that is there is lackluster. Seriously, you would think from the quality of the show's opening that K-on would have a ton of awesome animated musical acts, but sadly it is not to be.

Elfen Lied: There is not nearly as much gore as people say there is in this show. The only really gory parts are all in the first half of the first episode. I realize this is Studio Arms we are talking about here, so maybe this might be me asking a little too much, but I would appreciate less nudity in my non-hentai anime. I can accept shows like Mezzo Forte and whatnot, because those were originally hentai that get non-hentai versions or spin-offs made because they were actually pretty good, but it is my understanding that Elfen Lied was not supposed to be a hentai. Ever. I am one of those people who doesn't really like fanservice outside of shows that are designed to be full of fanservice already. But Elfen Lied takes fanservice to a whole new level.

Sword Art Online: There really isn't anything good about this show at all other than the animation quality. The characters are bland. The supposedly riveting death scenes that I was told existed in the first few episodes were boring, and had pretty much the same effect as Another's death scenes (in other words, because none of the characters were characterized, their deaths didn't really mean anything to me), only unlike Another, there was no gore. At least Another's deaths could still be disturbing because of their gore factor even if you didn't feel anything from their death scenes. SAO's were just boring. The action was meh, and the story was laughably hilarious. Seriously, I don't think I can name a story with more plot holes.

Devil May Cry: I just have one question for the people who made this anime. How can you takes one of the best videogame franchises (A franchise that has some of the best action scenes I have ever seen, in any medium) and make it so boring? Seriously, the action is either bland, or off screen, and the writing for 3/4 of the series is bad. There are a few episodes that are well done, but that is still unacceptable.

Oreimo: I can accept that some shows that pander to the Otaku fetishes can be good. Hell, I like a lot of Key Visual Novel anime adaptations, and those are full of Otaku fetishes. But there is a point where I have to draw the line, and a show about playing porno games with your sister is where I am drawing it. People keep telling me it is good, and I am dissapointed every time I retry it.

Gurren Lagann: Every time someone states this is their favorite mech show, I die a little bit inside. It is true I have never been a big fan of super-robot shows (Real-robots ftw) but Gurren Lagann takes it to the point where the show actually manages to give me headaches. The worst part, is that the show had a ton of potential. That first episode was cool. I think if they did a City of Ember style, we need to leave the underground city and find the surface kind of story, with the robot as their vehicle, it could have been pretty interesting. Sadly, we got a lot of two-dimensional characters, a dumb story, and a lot of bullshit explanations.

One Piece: OK, I can't say I hate One Piece, but I did watch about 20 episodes, and I was bored to tears by all of them. I really don't see why it is so popular.

I dislike Dears (don't watch it! I can't explain why...), Lucky Star (bored the crap out of me), Rosario + Vampire and any of the Dragon Ball anime (I may be the only one who hates it. My reason: there's too much screaming, it breaks the rules of not respecting the dead -if you get what I mean- and other stuff).
Now to express my opinion: I like School Days (the entire thing wasn't caused by Makoto if you noticed but it's just me. Yet again, I have an odd habit of paying TOO close to what's going on) and I like Boku no Pico. (It's a yaoi. My only guess is that those who mainly don't like the anime aren't used to watching yaoi. I also like watching any shounen-ai and yaoi anime that I can get).
Yet again, this entire forum is all opinion-based (I have seen about 100 anime within the past 4 years and there isn't a lot that I hate since I like every genre regardless of what it is).

Bleach

I try every year to watch it and give it a fair chance. I've seen around 20 episodes now in total. Everyone ended with me angry at myself for wasting time.
