Always deciding how I should live my life.. I'm exhausted.

They tell me what car I should drive
They tell me where I should live
They tell how I should go to work, what I should do at work...

I feel really exhausted and that I have no will of my own

Doesn't matter what they say. You're the one in control.

A great philosopher from the 90s has stated Parents just don't understand

Way to be racist!

It's easy to step out on your own, and even easier if you are 26. Unless you are still living at home that is...

I always listen to them, but I don't always follow. I do what is right for me.

That is correct I still live at home, and make payments on this house. My parents are retired now and I need to take care of them. It comes with being Asian. Just one of those responsibility we Asians have to live with.

You're the first Asian I've ever heard bitching about it.

Do what's right for you. Don't be their slave.

I was about to make a joke about not having parents, then I remembered that now I kind of do. Fucking future in-laws man.

At least they live out of the country and I only have to deal with them for about a week or two at a time 2-3 times a year. Which is good because i'd probably kill them if I had to spend any more time than that around them. I mostly deal with them by being buzzed and biting my tongue so as to keep myself from beating them senseless in front of their daughter.

Learn to ignore and still do what you want. Or move out. Simple.

Moved out at 18, worked like a dog to pay for school and have made my own decisions since. It's very hard to become independent and find yourself -- being able to choose what you want and need when you live under someone else's rules and roof. Things become very different when you work for everything you have.

Moving out is not always possible, but it should be a priority. Honestly, it is the only way. And if you have moved out, maybe move farther away...

You're 26 right (so says your avatar)? Sack up and be a man. You're old enough where you dictate everything in your life - I'm also 26.

Further, in the future when I have kids and they will undoubtedly whine, I'll tell them that when they're older and I'm really old I intend on moving in with them, paying no rent, complain about doing anything, ask for money all the time, leave messes everywhere, and ask that things always be my way.

The way I see it, whoever pays the bills calls the shots. I'm also assuming you're the eldest son. That means you're the boss. Whatever control your parents have on you is because you allow it. Man up......(and this is advice is coming from a mom of 4 half Asian/half Hispanic sons).

Manipulate them. In a good way though.
