Finally, there's わ, the verb marker.

たなかさんのうちて゛わたしすしたへ゛ますo
"Tanaka-san no uchi de watashi wa sushi wo tabemasu."
"I am eating sushi at Tanaka-san's house."

Hmm, I think u made a mistake in both examples above (but they seem to be the same mistake). Your すしわ should be すしを. Also, I think a better way of explaining を as a particle might be to say that it's the Direct Object marker (at least that's the way I learned it ).

In any case, thx for putting in the time to explain some helpful things for beginners!

I think 私たなかさんのうちすし食べます。 is correct.

たなかさんのうちすし食べます is future.
たなかさんのうちすし食べました。 is past.
たなかさんのうちすし食べた。 is finish.
たなかさんのうちすし食なかった。 is Did not.

田中さんの所お寿司頂きました。 is very polite Japanese. (Past sentence)

田中 = Tanaka (One of Japanese Family name)
所 = Tokoro (It mean place.)
頂く = Itadaku (will Receive *Polite*)
頂きました = Itadaki mashita (Received *Polite*)
お寿司 = O Sushi (More beautiful word than Sushi)

^ 私はたなかさんのうちですしを食べました and 私はたなかさんのうちですしを食べた both mean the same thing. The only difference is that 食べた is in casual form, and 食べました is in polite/masu form. They both mean "ate"; neither mean finished.

Thank you all for the replies ^_^ Helped a bunch, I've also bought the Rosetta Stone and been working on that and talking with people that are native to Japan I guess I kinda prematurely put this thread up thinking I was cool, lol..

Oh, u bought the Jap Rosetta Stone? I read some reviews on that and from what I can tell, it seems like it's really only for helping a person in the beginning stages, and not really for getting a person to the intermediate or advanced stages of the language.

But I'm glad u are speaking with people that are native to Japan, that'll do u wonders for sure!

It is kinda basic at the start but its helping with my verb conjugation and hearing a native person speak is kinda nice im starting to get into the 2&3 of the set and its getting kinda ehh its making you make your own sentences based off pictures and stuff like that, I really like it though it also came with a thing for online where you can talk to people from Japan and play games that help with vocab and things like that
