I noticed that when I stream anime from the Crunchyroll app for my 360, that in the upper left corner of the screen, where it displays at what quality it is playing. I can only get 4 bars, which I believe is 480p or equivalent. For netflix, and or hulu, I have no issues with it saying "HD" quality, or reaching the "HD" bar. Only with Crunchyroll do I have this issue.

I have a 30mb down 5mb up connection, so my ISP is not the issue.

I even checked my computer to make sure the anime I am currently watching which is "Blast of Tempest" was able to be streamed in HD quality first. And it is. I can watch it just fine at 1080p on my computer. But when I try and watch it on my xbox it only streams in 480p or 4 bars equivalent.

Is this normal? Or does crunchyroll not support full hd for the 360 yet?

I am fully aware of the X360 thread. Felt it would be easier to start up one of my own, rather then reading through pages and pages of information which doesnt pertain to me. Though some of their instances do relate, what effects one person does not mean will effect me in the same way.

Hopefully someone can post back with some resolution.

Dont get my wrong here, im not upset or anything. I have no issues others receieve with jerky picture, or buffering issues. the picture is also very clean and clear. I just wish I could get it to stream in FULL HD which is promised. So I was just hopeing for a simple fix. If not no big deal.

In fact I have been quite pleased with my servies so far. Basically 5$ a month, for all the anime streaming I can hope for. And the shows put on the network are actually decent series. And with the new 6 strike system, alot of people are looking for more sites like crunchyroll to feed their anime needs. And you guys do it well, and you do it cheap. So Kudos to you. I just wasnt sure if there was a quick fix for the HD issue, or no. Im guessing no, because ive been looking around a bit, and it seems a fair amount of people are having similar issues as I am. But like I said, no 2 problems are alike usally.

So bleh... if its a problem with CR's servers and data servers, id rather you just come out and say "yes we are experiencing heavy load, sorry." But if its something on my end, we can try and fix it

I'm pretty sure it's 720p, I know it doesn't say HD but if you compare the quality of say the Roku which does stream at 480p then you'll see the difference. It's probably some bit rate issue for the lack of the HD being lite up. Also Microsoft limits all 3rd party apps to 720p, only Xbox video player allows you to output 1080p.

To put it another way, you didn't feel the rules should apply to you. If everyone followed your example, this section of the forum would be littered with XBOX 360 threads from every time someone thought their problem was different.

This issue has been brought up before (currently only one page back from the end of the topic, where any reasonable person would begin looking for the latest problems). It was suggested that CR's bitrate for the 720p content was not high enough to trigger the "HD" indicator, but that person was only getting 3 bars.

How can I say this now....

Being a man of your .... age. I'm sure even you can comprehend what it is I am about to say. So I will be blunt. There is no "rule" you speak of.

Below is taken from the very page you speak said rule exists. In fact what he was saying was simple generality.
