This is kind of random, but it popped into mind. Where I live, in Colorado, we have great tap water, but I know that's not the case everywhere. I know for a fact that tap water in Mexico can make you sick, not to mention its greenish tint.

Feel free to post where you live too. I would be very interested to see that info. Be as general as you want with the location if you're not comfortable giving a specific city.

NOTE: The difference between answers 3 and 4 is whether you avoid tap water to be safer/healthier, or whether you avoid it because it really does make people sick, like Mexican water.

After football practice, the whole team would go over to a part of the field that had a hose. We'd all take turns drinking the water straight out of the hose without hesitation. This has been going on for many, many years and no one has gotten sick from it, so.. It's generally safe in my mind. However, I do understand the concerns of many.

I accidentally voted for the third choice. I voted without thinking about it; my actual answer would be choice 1.

We're listed as terrible, hell no, we get bottled. We boil tap water before doing anything with it, even ice cubes.

I mostly drink bottled water. Just because I think the tap water where I live tastes funny. I'm pretty sure it isn't dangerous in anyway, but bottled water definitely tastes like how water should be - Nothing.

Go read your water company's statement of what is in your water and find out what else is in the water. It is still probably the best solution in the US. The water companies are required by law to post the results of the testing and list everything at found at trace level and above. Have fun and search the terms you don't understand.

Once I read my local company's report, I ordered a NSF certified filtering system with a reverse osmosis step for my house. I keep up with replacing the filters which costs me about $100/year. My water tastes great now and is certainly healthier.
