The Rules


Ok so the other moderators and myself have agreed that we need a list of rules after some recent problems we have encountered so here are the rules for Nightshade. Please note if you break them the moderators will politely inform you of this and if you re-offend your character/s will just be deleted, you have been warned.

Rules:

Character Creation

1. Before creating you character please go to the pages and have a look at what races are available and to which clan they belong to. If you create a race or clan that doesn't exist you'll be asked to change it. Also if your race is able to use tarot cards please check which tarot cards are used here (you can have up to two tarot cards), again if you make any up you'll be asked to change them.
2. When posting you character please make sure you do it in the appropriate character creation thread as you'll be asked to move your post to the correct thread.
3. Please DO NOT constantly have a bio which says nothing. I know we would all like to develop characters as the RP goes on but please Noodle asks you write a few sentences and limit to ''to be revealed'' style bios to one character only.
4. Please be considerate to others when making your character/s. If you have a couple of characters and you see that there is one space left on a restricted race please think to yourself ''does my character really need to be that specific race?''. It's not that we (the mods) are trying to be pains in the bums but it would be nice to kept the last spaces free for people who have just joined so that they have a decent choice of races to select from. If in doubt ask yourself how you would feel if you joined and there were no chances to join a restricted race. We want to make everyone feel welcome and like they have a choice.
5. If your character has a back story that contains some potentially distressing or mature content please for the love of all things beautiful CENSOR it and ABOVE THE CENSOR PUT A WARNING on it as we have people of all ages here who have all got different backgrounds and some may get upset or offended easily.
6. Your weapons cannot be god mod weapons.
7. Please DO NOT post in any thread other than character creation until your character has been approved. Now moderator Noodle (me) is in charge of this and tries to approve characters within a 24 hour turn around. Please be patient and wait until you are approved.
8. Once your character has been approved DO NOT make any drastic changes to them without moderator approval. Now we're not a nasty bunch and we are willing to work along side you and are open to ideas but once you're character has been approved they have been approved so changes need to be okayed. However, if it is something simple like a different photo, you do not have to ask permission to change that (as long as it doesn't deviate much from who your character is, ie, don't turn a demon picture into that of a chimera).
9. Please use your character. We have a lot of people creating a character and then never using them which is unfair on other users if that character takes up a restricted race or rank. If you do not use your newly created character within two weeks they will be deleted unless you message a moderator to say you are on hiatus.

Role Playing

1. No RPing until your character/s have been approved (see above)
2. Keep it PG-13 because the general CR mods are cracking down on this. If it goes beyond PG-13 take it to PM or to our special R rated chat room (see bulletin board for link and password). You will see I use it a lot.
3. I really don't want to have to spell this one out but I will NO GOD DAMN GOD MODING. In other words no instant deaths, no constant evasion of attacks or spells, no revival, no healing unless this is a magic you can use, no constant one hits (occasionally they may have to be used to end a fight but make sure it is ok with the other person and post that it has been agreed) and no transformations unless your race or character can do this (and it has been approved). If you spot god moding happening report it to a moderator with what thread it happened on, what page it happened on and who did it.

An example of god moding would be having a werewolf or werebear able to transform into their animal form just at a picture or drawing of a full moon. Seriously this isn't how the race works because it is completely ridiculous and over powered. Come on people please for the sanity of Noodle USE YOUR BRAINS

4. No forcing other people's characters into a relationship. If they don't want your character to be in a relationship with theirs then tough, go cry a river, build a bridge and get over it.
5. If you want to join into a RP story (new or pre-existing) ask for permission for all those involved as that is common curtesy, unless it has been agreed already.

Guest Book

1. No bullying and no negative harassment of other members. In fact if any moderators get any reports of bullying or negative harassment you may just be banned without warning.
2. Keep it PG-13 in the sense that don't graphically describe things that may upset the CR mods.
3. No advertising any other group without permission. This has happened once when the group was in a very delicate situation and sadly it didn't help with that situation either.
4. No flame wars. After recent events we ask our members and those from other groups to not start flame wars. If we get any reports of members trying to do so (with photographic evidence or evidence as to where) you will just end up banned from NA without warning even if the flame wars is happening on another group.

Moderator Rules

1. Remember you are not god so be nice and courteous or Mama Noodle will bend you over her knee and spank your behind.
2. Be active!! I can't stress this enough we need to be an active mod team.
3. Discuss ideas with fellow mods before you just throw ideas out there!! I will be willing to over look throwing out fun and spontaneous games nights but not events that will have an impact on NA.
4. If you have a problem with a fellow mod follow the complaints procedure.
5. If there is a complaint made about you don't take it personally just see it as an opportunity to improve.

General rules

1. Obey the rules or suffer the consequences.
2. NO BULLYING OR NEGATIVE HARASSMENT ON or OFF CR.
3. Again keep it PG-13 and use the relevant places mentioned above for none PG-13 stuff.
4. No crying to moderators if things don't go how you planned. This is RP it is like real life if you don't like it then don't RP and go write a book.
5. Be courteous to all members.
6. No pyramid quoting! It is annoying as hell please please please for the love of which ever god you do or do not worship use the spoiler button. It's a pain in the ass to have to excessively scroll down posts just to get to your post.
7. If you have a problem with a moderator or a member please follow the complaints procedure.
8. If you quit please don't delete your characters and put ''quit''. Instead my dears use your brain and message a mod to say you're leaving because then it is easier to delete your characters. If you just delete them and put ''quit'' then I'm sorry but you will then give Noodle the right to say good riddance. You have been warned.
9. The most important rule of all is HAVE FUN

The Complaints Procedure




OK I really can't believe I am doing this but I guess having them would be useful. So here it is... The NA Complaints Procedures!!

Members (non-moderators) Complaints Procedure
Moderator Complaints Procedure
Both Moderator and Members Complaints Procedure

Here is what to do if you have a complaint about someone who is breaking the rules that Mama Noodle so kindly spent ages typing and updates as often as she can.

Where possible and appropriate message the user who has broken the rules about the rules (example: they have involved your character without consent) as they may be new and may not know the rules.

For more serious rule breaks or if the member is a repeat offender report the user to a moderator (if reporting a moderator do it to a different moderator) along with which page the rule break was on or even a screen capture of the rule break. We take all complaints very seriously.

The moderator will then speak to both parties involved to try to resolve issue. If the moderator believes that the rule break is legit they will contact the rule breaker and issue a formal warning. If they break the same rule again the member will just be removed from the group. If for any reason the moderator is unsure they will message each moderator to call a moderator meeting so it may be discussed.

If at any point you feel you have been unfairly treated message a moderator (if you feel a moderator has treated you unfairly use your brain and message a different moderator about it.) If you feel you have been unfairly treated by another moderator or even a member come straight to Mama Noodle and we will sit down and discuss it. At this point if mediation doesn't work between the parties involved (this will be taken to a chatzy room) the moderators will discuss what appropriate actions should be taken and have a vote on it.
