I'm 48, and being older just allows me to have a greater appreciation of the history of anime. Being a father of four and having watched anime through the many phases of my life just helps deepen my appreciation of the medium; why wouldn't it?

When they say things like "aren't you too old at 20 to be watching anime?", you need to say back "aren't you too old at 20 to be listening to rap?".

all the "17+ is max" makes me laugh, ever went to an anime convention? like average there is like 21-22...

As for my opinion, it depends on the anime you watch...Like don't watch pokemon at like 30+..you will just look bad. But Fairy Tail or One Piece (older shonen-type) will never get too old. Pus there is the Seinen category when you want to switch for something a little more "adult-like"

There isn't an age that's too old for anime! My dad's been watching it all his life, and he's almost 50. I've liked it since I can remember, and plan to like it and not ever be ashamed.

No age is too old for anime! Sometimes, anime helps me realize the important things in life and in many series, a moral or a lesson is taught or at least pointed out.

The people that say there is an age limit are too stuck in their own little boxes to see that anime has much more depth than the children cartoons they associate animation with.

I don't give a crap what friends may say. I watch anime at college in the food court where there are lots of people. Have my giant headset on and don't give a crap if they think it is childish or perverted or whatever. They are free to think that though.

There is no right age. Look at shin sekai yori, that is not a show for children. But at the same time I love some anime that are ment for kids, like Hamtaro.

yeah you cant be too old. I'm sure cool action sequences straight out of someones mind will still be cool when I'm 80. Anime girls will still be super cute when I'm 80. and I'll still be dreaming of adventures in fantasy worlds when I'm 80.
Anime is just more food for the soul.

When people who don't watch anime see anime, they see one of two things:

1. Cartoons are for kids

2. This is too violent for television

That's the best part about anime and what separates it from cartoons. There's a variety of genre for all ages to choose from.
