I had a trial with Funimation a few months back. They have a very nice library of shows, but the interface sucked big time. Specifically on the Roku it took forever for the app to launch then after each menu selection I had to wait minutes before selecting an option from the next menu to navigate to the show I wanted.

Have they fixed this yet? I'd happily pay them the requested $7 a month if their product is reliable.

You might want to give it another go. I have it on my Roku2 as well, and I think it loads and runs just fine. The Roku it's self is a little slower than a console/PC; but as far as being fluid and not having to wait minutes to switch shows, that isn't a problem anymore, at least not for me.

I haven't bothered with their website or mobile apps for a while now

also why does their website say it's "beta"? right under the Funimation logo, are they still working on it or something?

I looked on there forums and I guess they have a sticky thread dedicated to their Beta Version site: http://www.funimation.com/site-information-and-news/forum/funimationcom/site-information-and-news/beta-version-update-thread

The administrator of the thread stated: "Each week on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, the site gets updated with fixes worked on over the week."
The funny thing about that is the last time it was updated according to that thread was May 2011! I think they're just not posting the updates anymore would be my assumption.

To be honest, I haven't bothered with their Roku app since around early February, so I can't say. The navigation on the website is still dog slow, as it has been for ages, but even that is fast compared to the last few times I used their Roku app.

At least on the computer, I can switch to another tab or browser (I use Chrome for Funimation, Firefox for almost everything else) while waiting for a page to load.

There have been mentions for months now (perhaps more than a year) of a coming site redesign, at which time it will probably lose beta status, but I think it will finally happen about a day after CR makes 720p available for their Roku app.

I haven't had many problems (just buffering and playback ability) with their player in the times I've visited the site to watch the latest episodes of Haganai: NEXT, OniAi, and Psycho-Pass.
