It's such a change from what I was used to when I would come over to their house before.

OMG. You would be the best roommate for sure now. I want a cat now, but the house won't let me.
Why get one, when we can get two!

Maybe, we don't want to go overboard right away. One needs to be named Hobbes though. :3

Get over yourself, and tell the RA, friend or not, the RA has to do their job. If they don't, bring it up with the DA, ABSOLUTE WORST CASE SCENARIO: you get a new roommate, an RA position (Free housing, and food) and peace of mind.

Well if you haven't noticed I'm a bit of a fan of Calvin and Hobbes.

my roommates told me to "keep it down, since i'm trying to sleep" on a Sat night at 10 freaking pm. TEN PM. saturday. weekend.
They were in full makeup.
and this coming from them who have ppl over and talk loudly in the common area on weekdays past 12am.
leaves takeout on the kitchen counter for 3+days
god. thinking bout it pisses me off.
It was a 21+ dorm too. No normal 21+ uni student sleeps at 10pm on a weekDAY. If anything, they were the ones being inconsiderate, bothering me at 10pm.

I hate my roommates most of the time too. I live with my boyfriend, his sister, her boyfriend, and their annoying friend. So, five people in all, in a 3 bedroom apartment. They never clean up their dishes, they just stack them up in the sink as high as they will go, so I can never get to the faucet or anything. They never take out the garbage, they just pile things on top of it if it's full, they'll even put garbage on the TABLE. The girl likes to throw her bloody underwear into the washer when she's on her period, and just leave them there. And they like to leave their shit in the dryer until I throw it on their bed. They're always noisy.

One time, I had to get up at 5am the next day. They started watching The Walking Dead right before I was going to sleep, so I said "Can you turn that down, I'm going to sleep."
And the girl says to me "We're watching a zombie show, so you're going to hear a lot of noise"
And I'm just like... REALLY? I'M going to hear a lot of noise?

And of course, if I leave any food downstairs they eat it. So I have a mini fridge in my room, and a shelf for my food. And they whine about it, saying I'm "hoarding" food. We bought it for US to eat! Not you!

Partying on weekdays and sleeping on weekends? I think they have their priorities mixed up. Real world is gonna hit them hard (if you don't hit them first ) when they have to get a job during the week.

I never had roommates because I knew I was the type of person that needed my own room. Luckily there was plenty of single rooms at my school for me to chose from. I did have some hall mates that drove me crazy and an RA that didn't really enforced the rules one year which was really stressful for me (but at least I could retreat to my room and put my headphones on). If I were you I would try talking to your roommate about the problems, and maybe see if you can get your RA to sit in and help mediate (my school had roommate agreements that was basically a signed contract between roommates about what was and wasn't ok). If you don't feel comfortable taking with your roommate or RA about it then go over the RA's head and talk to their boss about the problem, and maybe see if you can switch rooms or something there is no need to suffer.
