All I really would like to see is people having fun watching the shows they like instead of bashing other shows. No more hate between dubbed - subbed, shonen - romance, etc... People need to just have a good time and pay no attention to shows they dislike.

An anime that does not spend the entire series about a girl or boy trying to win the love of the other in stupid ways, and, that ends with some progress made.

My wish is a new, long lasting, unique, shounen anime that will rack up the charts in popularity and manga sells because watching the same big time animes like naruto, one piece, etc. over and over does get quite boring after a while. and then when a great anime comes out, it only has like 12-25 episode *cough*Blue Exorcist. .

Dude it's like you're in my mind!! That's my biggest anime wish. I agree about Blue Exorcist and I also thought others like Beelzebub (almost arghh!), Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan or even Medaka Box might be the '' chosen ones'' but nowadays they prefer recycling these harem anime every season

Finally someone who understands and Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan is one of my fav shows!

Give it some time. As years of anime has progressed, I have noticed many paradigms of protagonists and their personalities slowly shift to a more liberal form. It won't be long until they change physical characteristics. (e.g. Kodaka american/japanese)

If you have not watched Code Geass R1 or R2 yet, do NOT click on these spoilers, because they are actually spoilers.

My wish is for publishers to stop sucking otakus dry and instead offer up things are a reasonable price and expand their business domestic with people willing to purchase less expensive volumes and overseas to offset the difference.

$65 for 2-3 bluray episodes is extortion.

Hey guys, please don't post any spoilers without the spoiler tags! A couple people on page 1 of this thread posted what happened to the main protagonist in School Days without marking it a spoiler so that kinda ruined it for me. It seems, thankfully, the posts were recently removed... but now the same thing is happening with Code Geass

Anyway, my wish is for more series similar to SAO, Accel World or .hack. I also really like series with an overpowered character or 2 (since I don't see too many of those), so another one of those with an awesome, complex plot would be cool.

I have a lot of wishes for anime...

-another TV Nanoha. the movies and 2 manga series are great, sure, but they just don't compare.
-less shonen, more seinen
-the death of moeblob
-more mecha
-stick closer to the source material

I wish there were more than a token (lol) handful of black characters in anime that weren't a ridiculous stereotype of some kind.

I wish that the default bust size for female characters wasn't the equivalent of smuggling two bowling balls in her shirt.

I wish anime as a genre was better at portraying women in a way that didn't make them out to be sluts/bimbos/badass gurls/glorified extras. Yes you can point to some examples of female characters who aren't like this but those few are far from the norm for the genre. Chalk it up to most writers being men who don't know how to write female characters.

I wish yuri/shoujo-ai wasn't 98% generic copy/paste of Aoi Hana, Sasameki Koto, and Strawberry Panic.

I wish there wasn't as much of a zigzag when it came to abuse between male and female characters. TvTropes has a bit called "Abuse is Okay When It's Female on Male" which is just wrong. If you want to do slapstick make it open to everyone of all genders or don't do it at all.

I wish love interests in general served as something other than a main character accessory. Again there are examples that defy this but the majority still treat love interests (male and female) as arm candy.

I wish most gay/lesbian characters weren't insane, immoral, stereotypes, or tokens. (this issue goes beyond anime though, I wish other mediums would as well)

As an overarching theme for all of this I don't think you need to completely eliminate stereotypes as in some cases they can serve a purpose, my issue is with stereotypes being the norm.
