Any thoughts on this?

This topic, although once talked about in 2012, has recently taken a huge surge of popularity in the science world because scientists have recently confirmed that the Higgs Boson particle exists.

To summarize it all into not-confusing terms, the Higgs Boson particle is said to explain why some things have mass and why some things do not. It was found within the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva, Switzerland. Scientists in 2012 said that they found something similar to what would have been a Higgs Boson, and it has been recently claimed and confirmed this month that it was indeed the long sought Higgs Boson. Those links I posted might be a little vague or confusing to some, so further research is appreciated.

Oh well. ^^ but being indifferent in the "Extended Discussion" kind of defeats the purpose of being in the section in the first place.

Not really. Just because someone is indifferent on this particular topic, like I am, doesn't mean they are indifferent on all of the topics in this section.

Yes, it's fine to be indifferent, but there's a difference between being indifferent to a topic and posting random/indifferent stuff on it.

I posted this topic in regards to the forum rules too. Those types of posts don't really belong here.

1. The kind of threads that go in here are ones on serious and intelligent issues. News articles, debates, religious discussions, scientific discussions, issues on morality/ethics, etc. There is already a section for drama, anime, music, games, etc. I'm sorry if you think discussing the newest Naruto episode is "serious and intelligent", but it doesn't belong here.

3. Posts must offer significant content. If you have no opinion on something, DON'T post. "I don't know." or "Yeah I think so too." is not enough. The section is called "extended" for a reason. Longer posts, but more real discussion. This includes the first post by the thread creator. If you don't provide enough information/starting discussion for someone to reply, your thread will be closed.

It's like a magnetic particle giving mass to things. Without it we'd be like the neutrino.
