It's a bigger deal than most kids think.
In middle school, my 13 year old friend was "dating" one of our friends at the highschool, who happened to be 18.
Sure, they didn't go all the way or even kiss for that matter, but it just wasnt right. They were at different levels of maturity, and he was going to leave that year for college.
We're both 18 now, and I can say that a LOT happens in one year for a teen.
My parents are 10 years apart, but the difference is that they got together when they were both full grown adults.
It's different for teens.
My first love was a year older than me, so his parents broke us up.
We were minors; there's nothing we could do.

Over all, I think that a 15 year old with a 17/18 year old is much different from a 23 year old and 25 year old.
Teens aren't fully mature yet.

Parents usually know best.

He said she was mature. (shrugs) My friend was pretty mature for her age, I'll admit that, but still. Mature for a just-turned teen is not the same as mature for a young adult.
I knew the guy since I was 11 (he was a friend of my older sister) and he always seemed to date freshman and younger chicks.
Maybe he couldn't get one his age?
It wasnt right.

Agreed. I have known girls in that age range that were mature but I still never considered dating them. I would guess you are correct that he just wasn't capable of getting one his age...or he is just one of those guys who needs to have a sit down conversation with Chris Hansen.

i hate it when the guys are too old but that's my opinion for myself. i don't care about the rest of you. altho sometimes i couldn't help but ridicule those relationships where the guys are way too old for the girls. but then it's their will.

No, as long as it's not illegal.

As long as both parties are of the legal age, it should not be a problem.

My personal cut off would be 13 years. Oldest I've dated is 7 years difference. I personally prefer older guys.

I think if they are 3 years apart than that's fine, but anything more than that is weird. Also they both have to be legal, that must be a key factor in the relationship.

As long as your both out of highschool and mature enough to make that decision the sky's the limit i'd say.

Is there a limit? Clearly not. Courtney Stodden doesn't look 16 though, so the 35 year age difference isn't that obvious.

If Anna Nicole Smith could date a senior citizen tycoon, anyone can.

I find age gaps that are with underage children disgusting (like a 20 year old with a 16 year old), but if it's something like a 20 year old with a 40 year old I find it a bit odd but nothing bad.
