It's a good time waster and a good way to talk to friends. If you're not a teenager, it's also a great way to tell others of important news.

I almost never use it. I created the account years ago when someone told me "facebook me." I forgot their name, never added them and never really got into it. I keep in touch with my friends without facebook just fine, so my account will probably continue to sit there.

I enjoy playing the games and RPing from time to time on Facebook. I mostly come for the games like Social Life. Since I only have two friends that I know on Facebook I don't get a lot of drama.

I did a spontaneous essay on the pros and cons of social networking, Facebook in particular, in my ICT exam, so if I get extremely bored at some point I'll share it, because I'm sure it makes for an extremely interesting and enlightening read

In any case, I have a FB account, but just keep it in the background more than anything, using it to just talk to people and get news from official pages. I very rarely post anything and definitely don't play any of the 'video games'.

I've seen movements trying to classify Facebook as a fully legitimate gaming platform on par with consoles, computer and mobile.

In real life, I am. I try to be nice to many of the people but some of them make me want to shoot them.

Am I on Facebook? Yes. Do I use Facebook more than once or twice a month? No. I'm just not super into it.

Facebook is good to connect people, I'm just always playing video games so I don't have one, also I'm pretty fugly (oxymoron) and the opposite of photogenic (I look naturally stoned, though I never smoked anything in my life) so I don't post pics

Query: Why do people take pictures in their bathrooms? Hypothetical: Aren't there nicer places?

Eh..a bit wordy but.. :/
I've had a FB for ~4 years now.. can't remember the exact reason for signing up.
Didn't do much with it until using it as a time waster with flash games. (yeah farmville and other Zynga'ers.. :/ )
Being at work with an internet on the night shift helped all of that...heh.
Made a few acquaintances thru the games-some of the neater ones were from around the world.
Dublin Ireland,UK,etc.
Nothing on it however has led to any RL relationship connections however.

Since then I've seen a few family members show up, a few ex school-peeps, and so forth.
Nice to see some of the things they've done with their life (got married, family, kids, etc) compared to me.
(and at times depressing... when I find a girl I had a crush on at 16, who's been married for sometime, has
_her_ daughter just getting married it just makes me feel old... )

Don't do much with the games anymore..just a couple but not the long-time-taking playing kind.
More recently it's been a source of anime+Japan info thanks to pages and stuff people have setup.

the bad side (and due to 'friending' for the gaming side of things)...
It definitely can be a source of drama... a couple people make it seem like they'd fit right in
on that Jersey Shore tv show... you have a few religious evangelics... and then the political complainers...

While that's been not so great, it helps to keep a bit of a balance on things. In a way to keep a
bit of perspective on the world. Too much of only seeing the things you want to see keeps a worldview stagnant.
(David Brin's "Earth" novel had a good look into that kind of thing)

But, it would be nice to have a "soap opera" filter available on it at times...

I dunno.. I just figured logically, bigger mirrors there to aim a camera at for self-pics? (esp for those just camera-phoning)
