Chapter 88

LOL, Raku almost got trolled there. Eh, I think he might get his memories back soon though but just a matter of time. I predict that the locket will play a key in that role.

Kirisaki was lovable in this chapter. I'm starting to like her again. Not that she was hated before, just forgotten.

I am hoping that he gets his memory back by first remembering who the girl he made a promise with back when they were five years old is! That would make a great spot to end the upcoming anime!

That is what I figure will happen too...

Oh, and I am a Chitoge fan, all the way! She is the girl of "The Promise", that is very, very clear. Every time one of them learns more about their childhood it becomes more clear that she is the one. I expect the story will be dragged out all the way through their senior year, unless it drops in the polls, then the mangaka probably has a 3 to 4 week wrap-up arc planned that can be started at any time...

Chapter 89

Really liking the amnesia arc, much better than I expected.

Raku already had his harem fall in love with him once, his amnesia self is just as powerful lol

I'm interested to see how this plays out.

Obviously the mangaka has been told, or has decided to start advancing the locket storyline to a conclusion, as is evident in the current amnesia arc. I just am wondering if the series continues after this arc, because it certainly feels like it might be winding down to a conclusion soon.

I find this Amensia arc to be a bit curious but at the same time I'm predicting that it will end soon in less than 5 chapters. Well if anything, this will progress the plot so I guess I'm happy about that.

I doubt the anime adaptation will reach here though.

I personally think its not gonna end yet. Its been doing well in Shounen Jump, its not dead last or anywhere near last in the rankings. Its been hovering between 4th and 6th, just good enough.

I am liking the amnesia arc, even though it is a bit of a tired cliche. Of course, I love Golden Time and amnesia is a major plot point in that story. Part of why I like it is that the amnesia in GT is handled differently than any other amnesia plot line I have ever known. Banri doesn't want to regain his memories. That is a twist. This one seems a bit more traditional, but at least it is re-emphasizing the locket story-line and showing how important it is to him. Other than Sis-Dere not giving it back, the locket had really fallen to the wayside. If the thing that brings his memory back is his memories from the past, it will be a major step forward in the plot.

Not really a spoiler, more speculation, but:

You made a lot of good points. A LOT. And I agree that the amnesia arc is good thus far.

What i wanted to point out what a perfect question your last one was. Like most people, I'd imagine, I've been waiting and waiting for him to realize this. Everyone can see that too and I am very curious how the plot it going to make him figure it out. If it's done right, it could be a very good ending to all of this.

In a sense, he's Ryuuji with a living Yakuza boss for a dad instead of a dead Yakuza flunky... (and he has the same basic personality profile.) I personally love the frames when Raku LOOKS like he is the son of a Yakuza king pin, when he is mad or doing something ultra-manly. Those are soooo damn funny! Sure, he may be a nice, gentle soul who cooks well, loves to care for animals, and is non-violent, but he also is the product of his environment. He can turn on the bad boy when he needs it. That is what makes Raku better than so many other milquetoast harem protagonists.
