Even though labeling someone as a "jock", "nerd", "prep", etc can be negitive. I think labeling yourself helps you find people who have the same interests and people who are similar to you. So why is it so bad?

There is no bad and good but there are people who would like to convince you so

I like to think that though I call myself boring, I'm still not simple enough to be categorized as any ONE thing. I am complexity at its finest and no socially constructed cage is big enough to hold me.

Hmmmm...think kinda makes sense....if you're referring to 'bad' and 'good' in relation to labels. Labels aren't bad but when people give the label of 'nerd' it's usually meant for negative purposes.

What you run to and what you run from is your label

I'm just paranoid like that.. Lol.. I fear a room with no doors or windows. I fear getting locked inside a box.
What have I been up to? Just being me.. Stuck between mood swings, 2 jobs, and a dream.. Lol..

"Just being me" is all you need, you don't need the extra "stress" of thinking that something is out to get you. Just accepting yourself does not require demeaning other things.

The problem is when you label someone without getting to know them. You know, judging a book by its cover and all that.

Perhaps you're right. But I've yet to see the necessity of letting society dictate to us what we are.

Wouldn't it be quite boring to be among birds of the same flock? I never and don't plan on labeling myself... it's the same as insulting myself.

^ That quote is beast. For all the funny trolling I have seen you do, you can get deep sometimes too, bro.

If I were to label myself something thats fine, if anyone else were to they cross a line. It is up to me and only me to determine where I fit socially.

You are most likely very much a part of society. you don't need to be social to be part of the system
