For once it's a group of girls where I really like all of them, but if I had to pick a favorite I'd go with Eri. I love her backstory and what she brings to the group.

(incidentally, why does Crunchyroll use "Eli" in its subs when everywhere else, Wikipedia included, uses Eri? weird.)

Japanese has no L R distinction so while Eri is official it sounds closer to Eli. The show title in Japanese is actually Rabu Raibu! But the Rs are Ls so more like Labu Laibu. That's why they sing "I laibu" instead of "I live" as they can't actually say "live", Ribu sounds like "leave". The "bu" is because they don't really have a "V" either.

Umi was my first favorite because I love Mimori Suzuko as her seiyuu, so beautiful with a beautiful voice aswell, but I love Maki too so she is my new favorite, love her voice on Soldier Game and Darling. Love them all really!

It's not that the Japanese don't have a distinction between the "l" and "r", but their phonetics require them to make a sound pronounced like a "l'' and ''r'' together. Same with the ''b'' and ''v''. With Eri/Eli, it's more of a matter of which version the translater prefers. In English, would a person say "Hey, Eli," or "Hey, Eri," easier?

My name is Harry and my daughter's name is Hallie. When I tell this to Japanese people they say, "Oh! You two have the same name!" because the names sound the same to them even though the R and L sounds are very distinctive to us. And they are excited because they like Harry Potter and I share his name too...

I am not a native Japanese speaker but for this reason I believe they could not tell Eri and Eli apart either or not easily.

I'm an Umi fan, though I also like Eri's character. Of all the rest, those two seem the most level-headed (if a tad bit stubborn lol).

Maki followed by Nozomi. Looks play a part but... Maki has an interesting personality and Nozomi just seems fun to be around.
